Thinking about farewell and funeral we postpone as long as possible

A long and healthy life is something to which we all aspire. Thinking about farewell and funeral we postpone as long as possible. But for those who say goodbye to the order or approaches, is to find a suitable funeral of interest. And as such leave is already difficult enough.

Funeral Compact provides a stylish farewell with all care and quality. A funeral without fuss or extras where the assistance is reduced to its essence and which can also be controlled over the internet. An additional advantage of Funeral Compact is that the organization serves people who do not have the financial resources required for a traditional funeral, and who therefore have to make a cost-conscious choice. The fixed prices, which Funeral Compact uses this are therefore distinctive.

Funeral Compact has two forms, service and pricing differ: Compact Base for € 1450, - in which you have already taken leave in the private sphere and Compact Essence for € 2000, - with a simple farewell possibility in a funeral of PC Hooft or during a house lying in state. Note that these prices are for a cremation. For a funeral is € 250, - extra charge. Because all rates are fixed in advance, will also be paid in advance by the customer. After payment services will be put in motion, so the customer does not back yet charged with additional costs.

Now you can directly arrange the funeral and pay directly online.

You can do something about it by getting a flu shot at the beginning of winter but not the benefits from everyone there looks

Flu is really annoying. You can do something about it by getting a flu shot at the beginning of winter but not the benefits from everyone there looks.

Anno 2016 proves the enthusiasm to get a flu shot always take more off. That concludes Dutch Institute for Health Services Research. Especially younger and healthy older people, particularly early sixties, renounce them. Why the institute do not know.

During the annual vaccination campaign of 2015 earned only one in five Dutch flu jab to the doctor, and that's been a little less than before. There is already catch a downward trend since 2005. As age increases, people are more often a jab. People with an ailment get the flu shot still does.

The flu shot is most popular among people over 65 with a high risk of complications from a medical condition. These shows 71 percent are vaccinated.

What are you doing? Pick up or take the risk of flu (you)?

You might think that you're going to the hospital to be helped, but some people get after a hospital stay back with something.

There appear in European hospitals each year 91,000 people die from infections they picked up there.Which has emerged thanks to a recent study. The number of patients being infected in a clinic is estimated at 2.6 million. It often involves pneumonia, septicemia, urinary tract and wound infections. Illness Cases are including multidrug resistant bacteria.

The researchers have recently published their findings in the journal 'Plos Medicine. According to them, to avoid this nasty cases such as better hygiene.

The research team was led by Italian Alessandro Cassini, attached to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). He used data collected in 2011-2012 in thirty countries with a total of 510 million inhabitants.

During the past Donor Week (10 to October 17) have reported for the first time more people who want to donate organs or not. Reported that the Ministry of Health. Of the nearly 31 844 new registrations was 5,414 times Yes (17 percent) and up to 26 430 (83 percent) No.Recently, the House of Representatives narrowly approve the bill D66 for a new registration. This not only led to joy, but also commotion. It is highly questionable whether the Senate will agree. But it seems that many people already anticipate the new system, where you have to refuse active, otherwise you become more or less automatically donor.

Also the people who lost their registration changes, the negative unpacked. There were 6,511 existing registrations turned into a Yes (37 percent) and 11,025 in No (63 percent). Past two years, the ratio Yes - No 86 percent vs. 14 percent, calculated over newcomers and people who brought changes.

The advocate of the new donorwet, D66 MP Pia Dijkstra, calls it ,, of course disappointing "that a majority of people choose No. Last year 134 deceased people, because no organ is available. ,, They benefit from more donors. I will remain committed to me that more people register to vote and can be helped if more donor patients. "

Dijkstra argues that the purpose of the donorwet is that people make a choice. ,, There are still nearly 9 million people who have not made a choice yet. If the new law is in force, all those people are going to make a choice. "

The way of food and feed as we teach our children will affect their health and well-being for the rest of their lives

Last year we ate Dutch for the fifth year in a row less meat. Per person consumption dropped to an average of 75.4 kilos. That equates to almost one whole kilo less compared to the previous year, according to a study by the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (LEI), part of Wageningen University.

The study was commissioned by animal welfare organization Wakker Dier. Said meat weight of meat, including bones. Roughly half of that is actually consumed.

The decrease is due mainly Dutch eat fewer pigs and cows. The consumption of chicken, veal, goat / sheep and horse remained the same.

Awake animal still not satisfied

Although the action group is happy with the decrease, it still is not fast enough. ,, We still eat about 45 percent more than the Nutrition Centre advises. At the expense of millions of animals who lead a miserable life in the cattle industry, "says Wakker Dier. Also to combat climate change would have to be eaten less meat according to the organization.

,, It is in all our interests that we eat less meat and therefore it is absurd that our supermarkets continue to flood with meat complaints and that the government does not take action, "says Wakker Dier.

According to the organization the consumer choose more often for organic meat. The animal friendly 'Better Life' meat is strongly on the rise.

How often do you eat meat? And what do you think of organic meat?

Schools have less and less time to accompany children with dyslexia in their classrooms

Dyslexia ... you would be as a child but have to deal with. But there is good news, because there is a special alphabet for these kids. The alphabet that the developers of Pi Spello developed specifically for children with dyslexia, the Pi-Spellobet goes online January 9.

In the year that the spelling method Pi Spello 10 years on the market, are the publishers of the online version of the method.

An online learning environment for children with dyslexia.

Schools have less and less time to accompany children with dyslexia in their classrooms. These children can now independently next to the teacher's instruction to get started with the software PI Spello, which offers online exercises in spelling all levels up to grade 7.

The Netherlands is currently underway at more than 200 locations (schools and practices) with the spelling method Pi Spello. But children from schools and practices that do not work with this method, can now online with the Pi-Spello software practice with the Pi-Spellobet.

The Pi-Spellobet

The ancient names of our traditional alphabet (ABCD ...) are still used in the year 2017 with the spelling lessons. Fine, for the child with a word picture. But the Netherlands is aware of the fact that the use of these names is the big problem for children with dyslexia? They should almost always rely on the sound of the word to write.

When the children ask to speak to write on highways, we expect from them that they 3 different sounds / snelweegun / use exactly the same sign E: highways. Confusing! But if they want to write the word fortunately / gulukkug / she must once again for three identical sounds / u / use a different character: happy. Confusing!

For this group of children hits the 26-character alphabet story amply deficit.

These children deserve another notation system, a different alphabet.

The spelling method Pi Spello, for 10 years this alphabet, the Pi-Spellobet, in which all possible sounds and sound bits of the Dutch language appear as characters and syllables with its own name and its own color. The method is the result of years of working with children with dyslexia. Developed by and for this target group. Pi Spello teaches the child to the highest attainable standard supported by the pi-Spellobet and write and think in color, sounds and sound bits of the Dutch language to use the correct characters and word parts.

Pi-Spello is the hallmark of Dutch Quality Institute Dyslexia NKD.

We are what we can remember, but what if those memories disappear? Dementia affects more and more Dutch. More than 270,000 people have already shown a form of dementia and forecasts that this number will increase in the coming years. Behind each of them lies a lifetime. Wrapped in memories that are still there, and kept alive by friends, family and loved ones.

To raise awareness of people with dementia and their loved ones Alzheimer Netherlands has made a special short film, which makes palpable the daily reality of the disease. A film that conveys a sense of how the life of a man who has recently been diagnosed, will be placed on its head. The film briefly see the process that many people endure with dementia. The beautiful memories of the past, the diagnosis that maketh the time periods of sadness and uncertainty. But also of hope and perspective to create new memories for example. It's a familiar story for people who it happened to, and it opens the eyes of many people who have not yet been confronted with the disease.

Gea Broekema-Prochazka - Director Alzheimer Netherlands explains: "It is important that the Netherlands will learn what the disease is, and that anyone who has to do deserves proper care and attention. And Alzheimer Netherlands are there everyday for deployment. One has to feel that this is necessary. Only then can we ask for support. And we need. Volunteers who are in our Alzheimer Cafes, donors who help us financially to the collectors who go on our behalf through its doors every year. "

"We want to identify with the film that we are there for anyone who has to deal with dementia. We are as should be challenged for better care when we need to invest in scientific research or if the Netherlands is to be aware and dementia -vriendelijker. We never forget. That's a promise, "said Broekema-Prochazka.

In this article the emotional short film that takes you in just eighty seconds into the world of a man who has been diagnosed. Whether your environment now affected by dementia or not, this film touches everyone.

Since October Netherlands has a fitness club for the emotional health: The Therapy Club

Since October Netherlands has a fitness club for the emotional health: The Therapy Club. "As you train your body at a gym, you learn to build with your emotional condition 'says founder Rob van Drunen.

The club developed his unique emotional fitness method. "This is to avoid stress. Ideal because employers often look only at what to do after it has gone wrong. Our method offers them a preventive solution. Not for nothing are correct then more and more companies join us. "

Disease number 1
The Therapy Club - currently active in Amsterdam and Utrecht - is an initiative of a group of therapists and coaches with diverse backgrounds. They saw for themselves eat around people flock running, at salad bars or even meditate before bedtime. But despite being one enormous attention emotionally exhausted health shows one in seven employees and seems to burn out soon epidemic number. Van Drunen: "Why so much attention to the physical health, while they forget to work on the emotional fitness? Science has already proven years ago that physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual aspects are inextricably linked. " While the innovative club-founder himself asked this question, he saw at the same time that there was actually nowhere to build the emotional health and maintain. It proved the germ for The Therapy Club.

Emotional Fitness method
Together with other therapists and coaches Van Drunen then developing an emotional fitness method. "This method is based on seven principles, including learning to listen without judging. Each fitnessessie lasts one and a half hours and has a format with five permanent members. "

Manifesto
This week is the Week of Work stress and therefore The Therapy Club launched a manifesto entitled "Fight for emotional freedom. "Every generation has its own ideals and struggle. Our parents set us up for a fight that did not feel like ours. By some we were therefore dismissed as a generation chips, as affluent young people who did not struggle to provide for freedom. But now we are mature and aggressive than ever! Our generation, especially the group between 30 and 34 years, represents a risk for stress, burnout, depression, et cetera. The search for a different way of life and a different society is therefore urgent, "the firm entrepreneur, who personally suffered from burnout.

Be honest: do you eat too much sugar?

The Diabetes Foundation opens Monday in Amsterdam Leidsestraat an information about sugar. The fund it calls a temporary rehab, to make people aware of the high sugar intake and its effects on health.

,, We have chosen the Leidsestraat because it is a sweet street, where many temptations, with shops full of candy, ice cream and chocolate, "said a spokeswoman. According to the Netherlands fund is unconsciously addicted to sugar. About 80 percent of the Dutch gets too much sugar in, and a half to two times too many. ,, It is in so many products clogged and we are also constantly tempted to unhealthy choices, "says Hanneke Dessing director of the Diabetes Fund.

To many - even the healthy eye - added products is sugar. Healthy alternatives are scarce. The 'rehab' is there to get a lot of information.

Perhaps an idea to also agree to take a sugar-free week itself?

November 12 is World Pneumonia Day. In the Netherlands, 25,000 children receive each year from pneumonia."Pneumonia chops in it, even with a child," said Michael Rutgers, Director Long Fund. "Usually the pneumonia after a week or two or cured, but it can take months for a child again completely recovered." On time treatment prevents worse. Good information can play an important role.

Every year in the Netherlands 125,000 people diagnosed with pneumonia, one in five over the age of 0-9 years. In children, pneumonia is more common, as in the elderly over 55 years old and vulnerable groups such as people with lung disease. "The lungs are a vital organ, at a young age they are very vulnerable," Rutgers explains the severity of pneumonia in children. "Especially children with reduced immunity are susceptible, for example if they have asthma or if their parents smoke." To identify pneumonia on time and to explain what is actually pneumonia, the Long Fund with new information on pneumonia occurs in children, can be found at www.longfonds.nl/ pneumonia child

Recognize the signs
Daughter Amy Sandra Naber and Rick Medendorp was eight months when she was listless and was found to have pneumonia. "I really did not know it could go so fast," says Sandra. "In adults, it takes a while before a pneumonia so serious, but not small ones." Amy eventually ended up in the hospital, where she was given extra oxygen and antibiotics. After five days they could go home. The same happened to Per (4), the son of Myrke van der Does (38). She is happy that she now knows where to look for: "If his nostrils wide stand out during breathing and the dimple draws in his neck inside. This means that breathing takes strength and Per so stuffy. "

Influenza is pneumonia
causes of pneumonia are usually a bacterium or virus, often starts with flu or colds. Children cough a lot, have high fever, feel tired or less active. Cough mixtures or expectorants relieve symptoms. But antibiotics is usually the best treatment. If the fever continues, the pneumonia can be serious. "Children are quite ill," says Rutgers. In a hospital admission is administered a higher dose of antibiotics, often in combination with additional oxygen.

3FM Serious Request
This year pneumonia in children in developing countries as a silent emergency central to 3FM Serious Request 2016 annual action to raise money for the Red Cross. Die each year more than 900,000 young children with pneumonia. Children easily saved with proper treatment and good information. The disease is worldwide one of the leading causes of death for children 5 years and younger. In the Netherlands die happy children rarely pneumonia.
Long Fund applauds this action heartily. Michael Rutgers: "At the time treatment prevents worse. Good information can play an important role. "

Long Fund
in the Netherlands are more than one million people with lung disease. Long Fund (formerly Asthma Foundation) fighting for clean air and healthy lungs. For and with everyone. We make research possible. We take dirty air. And we do everything to make children grow up smoking. We stand up for the best care for lung patients and for anyone who might ever.

Groundbreaking news: a cripple patient through surgery at the University Medical Center Utrecht with her thoughts to operate a computer voice

On Monday January 23 sends KRO-NCRV the Depression Gala from (NPO 1, 22:00). There are several artists including comedian Mike Boddé, René van der Gijp, small artist Martine Sandifort and Laura van Kaam (winner of The Voice Kids) who tell their personal experiences on this night and thus draw attention to depression among other youth and young women. This gala is presented by Anita Witzier.

want to take the creators of the taboo on depression with the television premiere of the Depression Gala so that people dare talk about it. "Talking is the most important step," emphasizes Anita Witzier. "Only then we can recognize the signs of depression in time and do something about it."

During the gala, there is a conversation that includes Laura van Kaam. She had recently taken her coming out. In the Netherlands she shared via Facebook her depression, a brave move. Her coach and 'auntie' Karin Bloemen - himself an experienced practitioner - looking for her for an honest conversation about their demons. Also Mike Boddé, René van der Gijp and Martine Sandifort tell how she eventually chose to share their illness with their environment and what their experiences, positive or negative, therewith.

Depression forms in adolescents and young women, the most common health burden. 1 in 15 adolescents and 1 in 20 adults suffer from it. More attention is needed to prevent this epidemic, now in the top three health problems. "Most people do not realize what depression is and how it feels," said Anita Witzier. "By informing about it on television we can get a large piece of ignorance deliver you the world and may be more understanding for this disease."

The Depression Gala is an initiative of the Mental Health Foundation, which seeks to reduce the taboo through greater openness about depression. "Talking about depression to be as normal as talking about physical symptoms," says psychiatrist and president of the foundation Bram Bakker. The Depression Gala will take place on Monday, January 16 in Amsterdam Theatre. The broadcast a week later: Monday, January 23, NPO 1, 22:00. Tickets for the gala are available.

Australian swimmers in Melbourne can not currently be going into the sea. By intense floods have been landed in the water both animal and human feces. Yakkiebah!

By severe storms and heavy rainfall, the contaminated water is blown into the bay. People who have ingested the water running under greater risk of gastroenteritis. Especially for children and the elderly contaminated water can be dangerous.

The authorities measure the degree of contamination of the water on the basis of the bacterium enterococcus. In dry periods, 100 milliliters of water contains about forty of these bacteria. The authorities in Port Philip Bay, the bay where the affected beaches are 400 or more measured bacteria per 100 milliliters.

,, We have indicators of fecal contamination, which is a neat definition of poop, "said Dr. Anthony Boxshall of the authority for nature protection, EPA. ,, It is bird droppings, it's horse shit, it's cow dung and the people's shit. "

Groundbreaking news: a cripple patient through surgery at the University Medical Center Utrecht with her thoughts to operate a computer voice. Wow!There have been placed on the brains of women electrodes pick her brain activity.

The patient suffers from ALS and therefore can not move and talk, but by the brain implant she can make herself understood anyway. ,, In fact, this patient has a remote control given in the head " , says Professor Nick Ramsey, a professor of cognitive neuroscience.

It is according to the hospital unique in the world that a patient can use the technique at home. They control the computer by voice in mind to move her fingers. For example, they can select a screen letters and form words that are spoken by the computer.

According to Ramsey, it is a major breakthrough ,, in the achievement of self-contained communication in severely cripple patients ".

The number of fireworks victims with serious hand injuries was during the last old-and-new celebration lower than last year

Very special is the following: the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital in Amsterdam is the virus that can cause cold sores bet against a form of skin cancer."The virus is so adapted that it can not cause more this condition. But it is able to kill cancer cells " , said a spokesman. "If the room is injected into a melanoma, the virus will multiply in the cancer cells. Once the cell is bursting with viruses, he explodes and spread the virus to surrounding cells. In healthy cells, however, the virus can not multiply. Thus, it is, very selectively, only the cancer. '

Surgeon Alexander Akkooi has, with his colleagues from the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, the first will apply the new agent in the Netherlands since early January. It is for patients with limited metastasis of the melanoma in the skin, subcutaneous or in the lymph nodes, but without metastases in organs. The agent will catch on in about half of patients and work an average of six month

As we ourselves have the idea that it was sometimes just war terms vuurwerkgenknal, yet there is good news:

The number of fireworks victims with serious hand injuries was during the last old-and-new celebration lower than last year. That concludes the Dutch Society for Plastic Surgery (NVPC) based on a study of the number of victims and the severity of firework injuries. have at the turn of 2016 plastic surgeons 33 patients with injuries treated by fireworks at 52 fireworks victims in 2015 and 69 in 2014. The policy to curb (wrong) fireworks used thus seems somewhat bear fruit, although the experience of past years has shown that the number of casualties may still increase significantly until late January. Also this year, illegal fireworks again the biggest culprit of severe hand injuries. Of the 33 lesions was about two-thirds the result of an accident involving illegal fireworks. Moreover, there were fireworks again this year many young victims: almost half of the patients were younger than 18 years. Plastic surgeon Annekatrien of Kar therefore continues to advocate on behalf of the NVPC for drastic measures such as a ban on consumer fireworks and tackling illegal fireworks: "Victims as these children are often insufficiently aware of the risks of fireworks, but suffer the rest of their live with the consequences. "

Plastic surgeons from the Netherlands recorded the most serious cases of fireworks injuries around old and new at the emergency department (ED). They saw victims with severe hand injuries, burns to the hands and all over the body and injuries to soft tissue. A total of 33 patients were treated. 28 times the patient himself had the fireworks, five times this was a bystander. The vast majority of fireworks injuries resulting from bangers, only 6 times, there was an accident with decorative fireworks. In total there are 25 fingers amputated in recent days. A large number of the victims is a minor (45%). Among them was a number of very young children.
True to tradition, were by far the majority of the victims were male, but this turn of the year there were also three female victims fireworks, two bystanders. In addition, it was still the major part of the injury, the result of illegal fireworks, which is the need to go against the import and the use of illegal fireworks only further enlarged.

NVPC continues to advocate for tougher government action
Although the number of casualties caused by fireworks something seems to decline, the Dutch Society for Plastic Surgery (NVPC) remains because of the serious consequences for individual patients advocate for decisive action from the government. The NVPC sees the effects of fireworks injuries are still being underestimated, while fireworks victims often have to live with chronic pain or even permanent disability. Annekatrien of Kar of the NVPC thinks the time is ripe for the government to address: "As far as the NVPC, the government prohibits consumer fireworks and set them even stronger in the strict control and tackling illegal fireworks. The severity of the injury to the individual patient, but also the social consequences outweigh the desire of some individuals to continue to stabbing off fireworks themselves. "

It is expected that the construction will take two weeks then shipping on the Meuse can get going again

"It's a simple solution. But that is exactly what we need right now. " That says Wilfred Miller, engineer from TU Delft on the emergency measure which Rijkswaterstaat has devised to prevent the flow of river water to the broken dam in Grave.

Every day around lunchtime the main news of the morning, the most beautiful photography and the talk of the town? Subscribe to our free newsletter.

At  last weekend feverishly working on a solution to the hole at Grave making shipping now blocked since Thursday. Twelve scenarios are calculated. Stakeholders have looked at the possibility of a mobile dike or pontoons in big bags.

Eventually opted for a temporary barrier of boulders behind the weir. Over the dam, partly covered by stones, is a water retaining cloth to stop the water. The construction is begun this week, the necessary equipment is already underway. It is expected that the construction lasts two weeks. Thereafter, the navigation on the Meuse can get going again.

It is expected that the construction will take two weeks then shipping on the Meuse can get going again. The dam is 30 meters wide and 5.6 meters high. It is connected to the pillars of the northern opening of the weir and comes to rest on a concrete barrier. Thus the temporary dam water level is the same as the actual dam. If the water level in the river Maas is at 7.9 meters above sea level, ships are again able to sail and come houseboats that are now stranded lie loose on river bottom.

The chosen solution was presented by Rijkswaterstaat water engineers from TU Delft for an independent second opinion. They have been unable to pass on all, stresses engineer Miller. "There was no time for that." But the solution adopted, according to him, the charm of simplicity. It can be fast. "And things can go wrong with relatively few."

One complication was in finding a temporary solution that should be quickly removed if there comes a flood wave. If the water may not alter, Meuse Dykes can not cope, says Miller. "Then you have rather low water flooding."

A spokesman for Rijkswaterstaat may then be reduced to the dam within 48 hours that the water can over it. According to Department of Public Works, the coming months are likely to expect a high water.

If the hole is close to Grave, we are here to draw lessons for the future

Bas Jonkman, professor of integrated engineering
Simultaneously with the construction of the dam is working to repair the dam. With 'droogzetkuipen' 5 meters wide and 9 meters high, parts of the weir put dry so the damaged yokes can be removed and replaced. The weir at Grave is made up of separate parts. Rijkswaterstaat expects that this job will take more than six months. In the meantime, the temporary sheet pile wall to keep the water level high.

Bas Jonkman, professor of integrated engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of TU Delft expects will generate a discussion after the repair on better protection of river weirs. The probability that a ship through the weir canal is small. "But the consequences are perhaps greater than we thought, 'says Jonkman. By one accident all shipping traffic is paralyzed. In the Meuse seven dams, which makes the river vulnerable.

Storm surge barriers are protected by double doors, dams not. Jonkman think of solutions that can be deployed rapidly in emergencies, such as an emergency closure which can be sail or an inflatable bladder. "If the hole is close to Grave, we are here to draw lessons for the future."

external research
Tuesday it became known that Rijkswaterstaat, municipalities, security regions and water authorities have ordered an external study on the dam accident. It will show whether the responsible authorities have acted properly in addressing the near-disaster when a ship loaded with benzene feed through the weir.

After the accident came from various quarters criticism. Rijkswaterstaat would have concluded the dam late at Heumen which dropped the water level in the Maas-Waal canal. Which went from lock to 2:30 am in the morning close, seven hours after the accident. The mayor of Heumen felt he was informed too late.

The research, which focuses on the first 48 hours after the disaster, must be completed within six weeks. The Maas-Waal canal is now navigable again limited.

Drug trafficking should not be legalized, but rather rigorously controlled

Drug trafficking should not be legalized, but rather rigorously controlled. The alarming stories from the southern Netherlands on intertwining of the upper and underworld in drug crime does not require regulation, but brutal repression.

Earlier, the Christian Democrats opposed the bill proposed by D66 to legalize cannabis cultivation. That proposal could count on the support of ruling party PvdA and fell at the last VVD congress at the grassroots in good soil. A majority is in sight.

Fight against drug crime in South Netherlands 'logistical nightmare'

Criminal proceedings against drug criminals are "a logistical nightmare" has become, says prosecutor Gretchen Forest . In 2015 resulted 400 arrests in the southern Netherlands in only six convictions.

"I'm afraid that we in the coming months to pursue a great academic debate in the liberal Netherlands on legalizing drugs supply at the back of the coffee shop," said Buma. "But that totally solves nothing. The criminals go merrily with the large-scale manufacture of weed and pills. The VVD wants 'smart regulation', but I have not heard of Mark Rutte what that is yet. A backdoor can go two ways: open or closed. I choose to close. "

Buma wants the debate is about the question of who in the Netherlands is the boss: the resident normally and safely wants to live in his neighborhood, or the criminal who provocative driving around in his car acquired with dirty money. "So far and no further, because it is running out of control," said Buma. "Criminal gangs have their tentacles everywhere. Do not they have to win, but the rule of law. That's the coming months commitment. "

Drugs are junk

Sybrand Buma
Buma said Tuesday Brabant campaign in a number of concrete measures. Coffee shops should be reduced and eventually all closed. Assets acquired should be taken away from drug profits and returned to the region. Region Mayors must therefore invest in a long-term approach to crime.

The CDA wants to expand the Opium Act, so that the large-scale purchasing is itself lawful preparing a criminal offense if there are indications that drug manufacture is the intent. Suspected of drug offenses should be standard remanded in custody.

"Drugs are junk and often affect the most vulnerable in society," says the CDA leader. "We do not give in to the cynicism that has already lost the battle. We do not reward criminals but punish. "

We should not be naive in dealing with these guys

Sybrand Buma
Buma is keenly aware that he is against the social movement for legalization, a movement that supports a growing number of mayors.

Buma thinks nothing. "We should not be naive in dealing with these guys," he says. "Justice must be given more resources at its disposal rather than less. More officers, more manpower to the investigation and more scope for the prosecution. The urgency in Brabant is palpable and it also plays in Gelderland, Limburg and Zeeland. '

Thus, the plan is also an attack on the electoral competitor VVD. Parties according to Buma has especially excelled in recent years, "catchy slogans," while "expert ministers" are urgently needed. Buma, "The security failure of the VVD and the provinces pay for this bill."

The Labour Inspectorate has imposed on him a fine of 8,000 euros, because, according to the inspectors 'knowingly' illegal would have employed.

Nandlal does not think he is guilty of fraud. "I have taken with a temporary residence permit permanently employed a refugee lawfully resident in the Netherlands in 2010 because he was working so well. I paid him just white. How could I know that I was in violation since February 2015, when the government has taken away his status? "

How could I know that I was in violation since February 2015, when the government has taken away his status?

 Entrepreneur Edu Nandlal
In October 2015 two inspectors came along at Nandlals office in Leidsche Rijn. It happened just that afternoon the 28-year-old Issouf Coulibaly windows of the office park on the chamois. The Ivorian had earlier that year lost his status; Netherlands Ivory Coast now consider safe enough to return to. Because Coulibaly Nandlal continued to work for the employer violated the Aliens Employment Act. And therefore Nandlal fined.

According to the Aliens Employment Act, the employer must 'constantly active view to monitor the residency status of its employees, "said the spokeswoman of the inspection Social Affairs and Employment, as the Labour now called. In this specific case, they will not go. She explains that if an employer is not informed by his employee about getting non-renewal of his temporary residence permit, the employer is punishable.

Nandlal says he is not known in detail this law. He has appealed. If he has to pay a fine for, according to him unconsciously offense, let them be lower and be spread over a long time, he suggests. Because now he threatens to lay off people. He then has no money to offer its employees training - Dutch, facade cleaning, window cleaning. "And precisely those courses I want my employees, who are at the bottom of the labor market, provide more opportunities for the future."

SLM plane crash
I have chosen as many vulnerable people to train on the job market to get them permanently at work

edu Nandlal
Edu Nandlal (53) is not just a cleaning business owner, also because of its special history. In June 1989, when he was 25 years old, he sat with the colorful national team of Surinamese-Dutch footballers in the SLM plane that crashed at the airport Zanderij Suriname. Nandlal was one of the few survivors. Until that day he had been a promising footballer, then he had to recover from a partial spinal cord injury.

Nandlal since receiving a disability benefit. His cleaning company that he started in 2002, he deserves not, he stresses. "After I survived the plane crash, I said to myself: I want to do something good. I have chosen as many vulnerable people to train on the job market to get them into sustainable work. "

Netherlands late but refugees and allow them then to their fate

edu Nandlal
Are about twenty employees of various origins. Among them are more refugees, including those from Somalia and Nigeria. Nandlal says he sees it as his task to help them to work. 'Netherlands late but refugees and allow them then to their fate. How many refugees are there in the government service, I ask myself sometimes wonder. "

In 2010, the then 22-year-old Issouf Coulibaly of Ivory Coast came to his door. Coulibaly, a temporary residence permit, had been assigned an apartment in Kanaleneiland and was looking for work.

"He proved to be the best employee I've had so far," says Nandlal. "He's tireless. In the morning he asked worried newspapers, then he went for me to work, through wind and rain, sometimes 25 meters height as a window cleaner. He has all the qualifications achieved rapidly. And he is also a good player. "

Coulibaly hangs his head when he hears the words of praise of his employer. "I liked very much the work. I've never had a benefit. "

I found the work very much. I've never had a benefit

Issouf Coulibaly
Had he can not tell his boss that he could not work for him? Coulibaly said he initially had not fully understood the seriousness of the situation. He had heard that his residence permit had expired. But he thought he could still win the case with his lawyer's help, he says.

"I wanted to show that it is not safe for me because my father is accused of rebellion. I thought, when they see how well I work and how good I am integrated, I can stay fixed.

But his initial lawyer was ill. And his next lawyer, who took his file, had not done much.

half 'risk businesses' in error

More than half of the 156 cleaning companies that the inspection Social Affairs and Employment (formerly Labour) visited last year, has violated any law ; including in the field of working hours, minimum wages and employment of illegal workers. One third of the audited companies must pay a fine.

This is evidenced by the initial results of the new method of inspection SWZ which she abuses by companies want to locate more effectively. This does not mean that half of all cleaning companies in error. The inspection is mainly visited 'risk companies "who have broken earlier rules, which symptoms or signs that there might be something wrong. Deschoonmaakondernemersorganisatie OSB welcomes the stricter approach.

Coulibaly had discussed with his employer that he was to sue for his residence permit. Nandlal: "I knew there were problems, but I did not know he was already illegal. That had the government can do let me know, because I do everything completely open and white? That same government has just tax due on its work during that period, no problems. "

Moreover Nandlal found it difficult to dismiss him, he admits honestly. "He must live on something during the procedure, I thought, or he slides into the crime. We also have a band built up in recent years. "

Coulibaly viewing during the call in a book about FC Utrecht. He looks despondent. His family house he also had in January 2016. Since then he stays with friends. "I've lost everything I've worked hard," he says. "My life is hard, without home, work and income."

I help to integrate refugees and I get the stocking on my head

edu Nandlal
Can not he better go back to Ivory Coast and there build a life here stay in the Netherlands in the hopeless illegal?

"I have long lived in the Netherlands, I have hardly contacts there," says Coulibaly. 'I dare not return. I'll stay here. "

"I do not blame Issouf. I now have a penalty on my roof, that's my fault, that I feel involved with my people, "says Nandlal. "The system is wrong. The law is there to protect illegal immigrants from exploitation. I just paid him neat, all white. I help to integrate refugees and I get the stocking on my head. "

More than half of the 156 cleaning companies that the inspection Social Affairs and Employment

More than half of the 156 cleaning companies that the inspection Social Affairs and Employment (formerly Labour) visited last year, has violated any law; including in the field of working hours, minimum wages and employment of illegal workers. One third of the audited companies must pay a fine.

This does not mean that half of the cleaning companies in error. The inspection is mainly to visit so-called "risk companies": companies that have previously violated rules about which symptoms or signs that there might be something wrong.

Fined for his best employee (+)

Edu Nandlal will "do good" with his cleaning. So he took Issouf Coulibaly, Ivory Coast with residency status in the service. Now he has a substantial fine, because Coulibaly's status has been revoked. Read his story here.

The employers of the cleaning industry OSB welcomes the stricter approach of the inspection. "Because it keeps clean industry," said a spokeswoman. "Our members should take the bend the rules when cleaning the CAO, to differentiate themselves from others." OSB regularly consults with the inspection on the approach to the unscrupulous companies, the spokesman said. "Fraud Rende companies bring harm to the entire industry."

For all sectors the inspection Social Affairs by 2016 has tightened the approach to labor fraud. Previously, inspectors checked a listing of compliance with one law in the field of 'honest work', especially on the employment of illegal workers. In 2016, the auditors inspected fewer companies - 3,000, against 4,500 the previous year - but more intense: in addition to illegal immigrants even if they pay the minimum wage and observe the statutory working hours.

Exploitation
This approach leads to the discovery of more violations per inspection. In 2014, 19 percent of the companies visited was given a reprimand, it was 40 percent in the first half of 2016. The handling of the visit requires more time, reducing the companies visited.

The process has changed since illegal work less often - more and more workers from abroad (as now Bulgarians and Romanians) are allowed to work in the Netherlands. The inspection now focuses more on underpaying workers and exploitation, which is a growing problem according to the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The full findings of the inspections of 2016 are not yet known because, in particular research into wages and working hours requires more work. However, his initial findings published on the website, especially the investigations into compliance with the Aliens Act. It shows that 15 percent of the companies visited have violated this law; in England it is almost a quarter of the companies, and are violation of this law hardly in Friesland and Drenthe. It is mainly about restaurants and shops that illegal immigrants would employ.

Forest calls the criminal in major criminal cases even a logistical nightmare. A nightmare that claimed Forest is caused by the tactics of the defendants and their lawyers to delay matters and eventually the hook.

The weapon that the defense claimed Forest before deployment, the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights. With the endless research needs treaty in hand would be submitted by the defense to be upheld by the courts. Therefore cases are delayed so that ultimately the result of all efforts is saddening.

Our trial is ideal for dealing with cases of limited size

It can be handed to Forest that at present a large number (drug-related) criminal cases take a long time, they sometimes get stuck on parts and may not always lead to the results that would like to see the OM. But is an efficient trial a bygone dream and if so, the reason lies in the exercise of the rights of the defense, as the prosecutor would have us believe?

No, it's not a dream and the exercise of human rights can never be claimed as root cause of the seizure of the criminal proceedings. In other words, even if the cause of the crash of the trial are set therein, the solution to that delay can not be found in the limitation of those rights. Before that those rights are simply too important.

Our trial is ideal for dealing with cases of limited size, with a clear accusation against a number of suspects to overlook. Such cases can in a relatively short time through the pipeline.

Very large business is a heavy load on the system and put great pressure on the available capacity

But also (very) large business with many suspects and an extensive suspicion the current system is certainly not inappropriate. The Rotterdam court will in any case frequently very big business settled in relatively little time. Especially when the timing is viewed from an international perspective. That does not mean that the original "inventor" of the system, Napoleon, it had never intended for that purpose. Very large business is a heavy load on the system and put great pressure on the available capacity.

Improve the system so that reduces pressure is possible and partly so does the development of the new Code of Criminal Procedure which is now in full swing. A short-term solution that could begin tomorrow, is to limit the criminal cases in their size. The prosecution holds the key. The prosecution in the trial free in his decision whether or not to prosecute, but also why. In preparation for this decision is the OM as "boss" of the police free to organize the investigation as it wishes.

A manageable trial leads to the eye perhaps to smaller but much faster to results

This may OM issues that lend themselves to bring to justice for all process participants manageable form. A manageable trial leads to the eye perhaps to smaller but much faster results and to prevent endless bickering. Moreover, the space for very large and complex cases creates which should also be submitted to the court. Ultimately, it may prove that the total is greater than the sum of its parts.

I voted for the Subaru Outback chosen because of the distinctive unusual design of the car in combination

I voted for the Subaru Outback chosen because of the distinctive unusual design of the car in combination with similarly unusual technique of 4wd technology, CVT transmission and boxer engine. For me, a very successful combination.

I chose Tungsten gray. The color has shades ranging from light gray to light goudig. I have doubts about Ice Silver and Crystal White. The Ice Silver, I found something blue and a bit ordinary. White I did not dare because of its contagiousness. Also, I think the car is just too big to be ordered in white. Eventually it seemed to me flat and boring. Tungsten color gives the car a distinguished and chic look. Because it is a Mica paintwork, the car looks like from any angle and under different lighting conditions have a different color. Sometimes light, sometimes dark gray, then gray goudig.

The car smoelt very tasty. In particular, the Front. The hexagonal grill with the headlight units with LED edges appeal to me.
I have decorated the car with fender around, mud flaps front and rear skid plate for. Combined with the Tungsten color and privacy glass gives it a cool contrast. It's a tough thick container to see, without being pretentious (BMW, Volvo XC) or just boring (Passat, Mondeo). The car has a nice streamlined shape because the windshield is relatively flat compared with SUVs and rear relatively inclined compared to standard drives. Because the Premium version for the car is also equipped with an open roof and polished 18-inch wheels.

It is difficult to compare the Outback with a certain category of cars. It is not an SUV and a BMW X3 or X5, Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, for example, or Toyota RAV4. Nor is it a station wagon as a BMW 3 or 5 series, VW Passat, Ford Mondeo or Mazda 6. You can even compare him the best with an Audi A4 or A6 allroad or Volvo XC70 while these cars, if carried out equivalent, are much more expensive. Recently there is also a Volvo V60 Cross Country is available. In week 38 cars in 2015 can be read that the V60 with a T5 engine (245pk) is offered without 4wd and equipped with the necessary extras for € 62,000. This is almost € 20,000 costs more than the Outback without 4wd that is. The feeling that the car is distinctive and unique is also caused you see him rarely. Since I took the decision to buy the car I'm no specimen encountered on the road.

Interior
The interior is unfussy good quality. The seats and upholstery for example, the armrests are soft and comfortable. Less hard than in German cars for example. The seats are 8-way power adjustable so you can always find a good driving position. It is the first car in which the lumbar support fits really well on my back. The electric sliding sunroof works perfectly. What is striking is that the wind does not "flapping" in the interior at certain speeds. The light in the interior is very nice result.
Fair is fair and the average Audi, BMW or Mercedes or Volvo gives a higher quality experience. On the other hand, who has ever been in a 5 year old Volvo knows that the coating as well as plastics release especially in the door handles and steering wheel.
Subaru uses slightly harder plastic types. This seems at first sight less attractive, but still made for eternity. The future will tell.
The steering is well in hand and that it is not too large, it seems even sporty. The controls for cruise control and infotainment are clearly arranged and intuitive to operate.

The infotainment system is quite attractive and works very well. The layout of the navigation is a little old fashioned designed. The sound quality is above average geodetic quality, despite the fact that 12 speak starry Harman Kardon system is not delivered in the Benelux. The basses are pretty solid and by drawing the sound is good. Perhaps it is also because of the DAB tuner. You must set it as well. The connection with my Iphone is quite good. The iTunes library is very easy to operate, also from the steering wheel. Even spotify works in this way. Unfortunately Mirror Link does not work with iPhone. The added value of AHA (Harman Kardon infotainment software) I have not yet discovered.

In the back there is sufficient space. Conveniently, the rear seat can be put in a reclining position. The luggage compartment is also more than big enough and the power tailgate is a nice gadget, but it does a litle bit.

Performance and handling.
After I ordered the car, I read several reviews that desired showed the ability of the 2.5i. I can only say that this is complete nonsense. Journalists are just a bit too spoiled their six-cylinders, I say. And of course, I'd also have preferred 3.6R from America with 256pk. In normal use and movement speed of the 2.5i does not exceed 3,000 rpm from. Cruising at 150? No problem. The CVT is simply wonderful in that it keeps the engine nice in the background during normal use. Accelerate harder you, you feel the six preset speeds allowing continuous roar, there is no question. If you are in a manual transmission car accelerates wail not unlike the CVT. I dare say that this tank is at least as comfortable or more comfortable than a manual transmission and some dual-clutch automatic.
The CVT can quite easily at the first traffic light're gone.
But let's be honest here again, it's not the 245pk Volvo T5 in 6.5 sec to 100 sprint. But you will not miss the moment. The 175pk and 235NM torque are ample. And then there's the wonderfully tasty boxerroffeltje in the background.

Striking is the rate at which the CVT will switch if this controlled with the steering wheel flippers. No delay like an automatic or dual-clutch. Just skip to the next gear. Fast. Along with the boxer engine you find yourself in a much faster car.

Subaru seems Type car to have found a good balance between comfort and sportiness. The car seems to be very much on course and is like a rock on the road.

What could be better?
As I wrote before, the material used in the interior just short of European quality. Although the chairs sit lateral support Slightly should be tighter so you could sit a little more enclosed. The center armrest is large enough, but not too forward.
The power tailgate is working a little too slow. Maybe it close for safety is a litle but access would be slightly faster. What I regret is that the beautiful LED strips illuminate in the lights when the car is unlocked with the remote control. This is also not adjustable. Too bad if you walk to the car in a dark parking garage. And especially since you yourself that beautiful Ledstrips never see burning.
These are just little things that detract in any way to the fun and quality experience that gives this car.

The last car Toyota Starlet 1990 was too small and it would be quite expensive to get him through the MOT

The last car Toyota Starlet 1990 was too small and it would be quite expensive to get him through the MOT. Looking for something else. Opel Astra, 1st type, I always thought a nice little car. Actually very standard, you see them in droves (though it has become less well after the time of the scrapping premium)

Came a beautiful specimen against, built in 1994. No speck of rust, even in the rear mudguards. Quite unique: this rust there are the 1st series Astra's nevertheless known for. Made trial Ride. Perfectly fine, nothing to criticize. So cut the Gordian knot and Starlet was traded Have almost four years driven around in the Astra. Very enjoyable car. Low cost had to.

Comfort:

Seats quite firm, but is good. No electric windows and no power steering and three door version. Very standard so. Power steering only miss you sometimes when parking. 3 doors later with 2 small children or with boarding awkward. Furthermore rather anonymous car. But had not bought the car to fall. Purely as a reliable means of transport. And was reliable Astra. More about that later.

Performance

Just enough. No race monster, but just good enough as a highway to get along smoothly in everyday traffic, both town
use was always tidy, so an average of about 1 to 13 I treasure

Problems.

Little. A faulty light and license plate illumination, defective battery after nearly 4 years (do not know how old the battery then was) not really things that you can charge the car. 1 real problem came away after two years leaky head gasket. Thought for a moment that this would mean the end of the Astra, while I drove smoothly two years at that time. Thick plumes of smoke, you idiot high temperature. After us look to see whether it was to do something about it. Outside the head gasket failure there was nothing wrong with the Astra. For about 550 euros, the car has been fixed again and was immediately replaced the timing belt. Car drove from then even better than at the time of purchase. Then thick 1.5 years basically no problem. 1x hit on the highway spontaneously off the engine. Was a shock so at a speed of 100km per hour. Luckily it was not that busy and I could easily get to the hard shoulder. That car restarted. Walked Right again and never had problems. Probably had while driving the motor also got underway again. Suspect that somewhere something "fixed" has been sitting in the pipes (dirty?) That there just was no fuel supply. The restart is this, I think dislodged again. Then only need to replace batteries: door lock had thrown while engine was off and lights still burned. Was in the winter and when I had taken the spare key was found empty battery. Was almost impossible to get to work. Conclusion ANWB after by measure: do there but another battery.

Conclusion

Reliable, simple but nice car. Low cost had to. Insurance + tax and low maintenance also was that bad (outside the problem with the leaky head gasket)
Average servicing approximately 220 euros per year (MOT + turn)

Farewell

After almost 4 years was the Astra too small. Went looking for a Zafira. I found at that time (February 2010) a bit on the expensive side. Unexpectedly there was a (temporary) solution to the lack of space: A Ford Sierra in 1991. The Opel Astra now serves as courtesy cars at a dealership. (he still drives in 2014, now 20 years old!)

About the Ford Sierra, you can read in my other Review

October 2015, most recently as badge checked through this sita. hetlaas the car or scrapped or exported (hope rather than the latter) You see them less and less, the old Astras

Really, months looking for this type of the head. And then he suddenly stood up Marketplace, little ridden and also with 15 "wheels. I was within an hour with my wife in the car of my old faithful Tucson. On the way to the dealer.

Totally cool. Some things still bijgenomen . See the picture. I also ordered a "spare wheel"! not yet available. Man what drives this trolley adult. Mind you, I come from a 4WD Tucson diesel. Nice sporty driving, I do not. Just carry me from a to B with "air conditioning" and "cruise control" and a mighty fine Pioneer navigation (F8430BT) .He is on 15 "wheels with 175/50 / R15 tires. These are summer straps and approach the standard 155/70 / R13. So little speed difference etc. What will keep my attention is what zoekerig driving. But the car is actually still new, so I want to give a negative opinion here about. Chairs are really good. Now do not feel like sitting on a bench as in the previous Tucson (got him, I have to say goodbye in the heart with pain. The differentiation and consumption is gigantic) The outside noise (tires) is a little noticeable but not distracting or overbearing. We are very curious to see how this car will take us to Portugal. I will keep you informed.Too bad this misses (3,000 km)What I now want to share with you is this, the supply of a spare wheel (spare wheel) for I10 a) seems to be a big problem. For more than 24 spare wheels appear to be on backorder. They have apparently come from Korea.

b) If your Hyundai is equipped with a Pioneer navigation system, Hyundai appears not to be able for it to provide for an iPod cable. What they have in stock is the standard cable for the standard connection on the dashboard, but not the cable to use for your Pioneer navigation system. The standard connection is disconnected and you must have to use the cables in the glove compartment. Before that they have not the proper adapter cable. The armrest they let expire in the middle, because it covered the use of - the parking brake and - the closure of the seat belts off.

Then another tip, if you must use a home comming from a puncture of one of the front wheels, switch it first to a rear wheel well and then use behind the spare wheel. Your gear will appreciate this.
The trip to South Portugal (8098 km)For 15 years we stay every year for several months in Portugal (Algarve). We usually travel by car. So this time the I10 'snowball'. Now I can tell you that the three-pitter has passed fine. With 2 people and give appropriate weight of luggage, we have undertaken the journey. No back pain and on the highway, he drove quietly along with the other traffic. Average consumption was 1 in 16. The tour was in 3 days via the A10 in France, with stops Bordeaux, Salamanca to the Algarve (from Sevilla). It strikes me that wants to turn me the engine sometimes (apparently using too few rows) and when pulling away on a slope, the clutch plates (ramp test handbrake etc.) nice to be put to the test. I also now a rattle somewhere behind that I can not identify yet. Here in the Algarve, he steals the show. There driving here little I10 in the Algarve.

Since my wife since January 1 has a company car and use my Audi A4 was limited to the weekend

Since my wife since January 1 has a company car and use my Audi A4 was limited to the weekend, but still took the plunge and go look for a convertible. BMW 4-Series Cabrio I find beautiful, but I found too expensive. Thus, I was already fast on the new Audi A3 convertible out. Since I do not want a bald version, a new fact soon fell off. Also 2dehands I found the prices are quite high. Among the 40k there was little choice. Until I arrived in Haarlem, where they face a huge inventory of new A3 convertibles. There was a nice discount, but the trade-in my Audi A4 Avant 1.8 Quattro Pro Line S I found disappointing. This car was just over 2 years old and depreciated after 34.000km already € 20,000. That was not an option. Still only just phoned my dealer in Tilburg, where my previous two Audis had bought satisfactorily. After some calls he had been one new A3 convertible. A thick dressed version 1.4 TFSI 150 hp S-tronic Pro Line S Open Days edition. This car will see in the showroom and then bought without a test drive. I could not imagine that this would drive bad. My wife drives a 110 horsepower A3 S-tronic and that runs all right.

I have the car since the end of June, and what a delight. I find him, despite the S line sports suspension with 18-inch rims comfortably. This is more comfortable than my A4 Quattro with 18 inches. Also in terms of roominess is not it against me. So we went to Sweden in August with two children aged 6 and 8, three weeks on holiday. It is on the tight side, but we enjoyed. The S-tronic I can highly recommend it. This is my first car with automatic transmission, but it is a pleasure. Since my wife has a vending machine and I as well as regularly ride, I'm sold. I would never go back.

The equipment of the open days in combination with Pro Line S makes the car completely. Next seat, nekverwarming is also included. Such a luxury. The acoustic roof (standard in open days) is recommended. You hear something more wind noise than a normal car, but it does not bother. I drove even 200+ in Germany and wind noise is not that bad. Really a top car, even though this version is definitely the price. I am satisfied with the trade-in price and discount I received on this car. I like the A3, moreover, much nicer than the A5, which is a bit dated happens. I also expect a new A5 convertible in 2016 and I do not want to drive an old version.

The Mini Cooper is a super car. I am happy when I see him every time whether in drive. I'm not the only one who thinks that, because I get a lot of positive moments. I have a red with white mirrors and a white roof. I've got this model in August 2004 (just after the facelift) .I got the Chili package, but have put on later 17 inch BBS cross-spoke wheels. That allows him certainly very good. With the sports suspension plus and 17-inch wheels with run-flat tires, I find it very hard suspension. That's very nice if you like corners, but it is not comfortable. If I have to drive far, for example in winter, I put 16 inch rims on it. The space in the Mini I notice everything, because you (the low is) a lot of headroom. Up to 2 people, it is a perfect car. I just take my skis 160 cm in my Mini. Sometimes I would like to have a little more horsepower, but I found a Cooper S just too expensive (compared to +7500 Cooper). I am very curious about the new Mini, with a turbo engine is approximately 143 hp in the Cooper. The new Mini incidentally, this year. I was this week at the dealership and told me that the current model still built t / m in October 2006.

Update 26-06-2006
After 44,000 km still very pleased with the Mini. Besides 2x window damage no problem. Recommended!
PROBLEMSI have some problems with moisture in the doors, creating a kind of mold on the windows as I've had my windows open. Furthermore, some small creaks, but not so bad.

Update 23-04-2006
Are still very satisfied, but I have already had two time window damage. It seems to be more common because the windshield is very upright. I also suffer from kraakje in the dashboard and mold on the inside of the door windows.

Update 26-06-2006
After filing a complaint with Mini (through a survey about the service) is finally now taken action to address the mold. The rubbers of the windows (just before the expiration of the warranty) replaced free of charge.

The previous owners kept a handwritten file in which everything but actually everything was kept

Rightfully called a semi classic that 440 out of 89 !! This 440 2nd owner (son 1st owner) has together with his father 440 perhaps a little too much pampered. He's just about perfect and is in top condition. Okay a few spots updated (nicely done) with a brush and a crack in a shaft case is all I've found so far. I also get a lot of compliments about the condition of the car.

The previous owners kept a handwritten file in which everything but actually everything was kept. of major repairs to the change of the battery of the afstanbediening of the alarm. The previous owner then took almost tears in his eyes farewell. He had three Volvos at that time, 2x V40 (one of his deceased father) and 1 V40 T4 this was "his" car.

A little bitter than it was a few days to read an email from him the night before had an accident with his T4 and the total loss was (presumably), and that he had something to sell 440 early.

My 440 is already become a victim of a marten. The 2nd night he watched my 440 even better and his signature left behind: a few hefty pull out the insulation coating under the hood, an air hose and tasted several times the insulation of the coolant hose. Fortunately only bite marks and his nails so after wiping the block and replace the hose can drive again. Just to be sure, but bought an anti marten device. (ultrasound)
so do not come back this or friends.

So far so than satisfied, even on consumption so far> 1:12 and for a car that has been driven more than quiet the last year. The semi-antique car insurance from less than € 10, - a nice bonus (unfortunately after 2 weeks a letter of assurance that the semi oltimerverzekering was geanuleerd, without giving a reason Ds drove almost 2 weeks uninsured around ...... ?!?!) the "normal" insurance costs 11 -

Oja Fiesta I also, i want to use the drive for sunny days and around the house. At least when I come to it, the kids he also suits very well !!

A little over 440, these cars have a very low residual noticed me. I got this for € 600, - bought and that has seen the state of the car a real bargain! believe me in my quest for a 440 I watched the necessary and which were much worse (and more expensive) than this.
still satisfied! The Fiesta is soon ingevlooid by my niece and now no longer my car but hers! About 440 I can costs be: still very satisfied! Meanwhile driven a few thousand km, and no problems.

But ... the fact remains for me one for small car. And son who is a DJ, so carry a lot of stuff, and I do a lot of chores, so actually a station necessity rather than a desire. Unfortunately, it remains for the time being and with desire, because goodbye to this 440 is short "stupid". A residual value, the 440 does not trade or sell so do not pay.

My son will soon be driving lessons so that he might then this car can go away and in due course I still am going to buy a larger drive.

Had it stay nice and cheap driving in the 440.
total loss.....Well then come to take the day of farewell ..... in a parking garage at the hospital for the total barrier loosely drove to the front! a large range rover sport drove me to the exit. When the barrier was the driver at the hoddelen with his card and suddenly I saw his reverse lights to go. Before I'll respond, he stepped on the gas and drove the front vd 440 in ruins .... he forgot to pay his ticket and arrived at the barrier behind. Me he had not seen, he said. Damage allow recording and yes more than 1500, - damage and with a current market value of a cheap bike than you know. Even on the demolition bought some new components such as headlight, grill etc and again made oogelijk. But the fun is starting. Eventually sold for a tidy sum. And started looking for a large estate.

I have no reviews were found for this model car so it's about time I thought

I have no reviews were found for this model car so it's about time I thought. Now I have no experience with writing reviews but may state here yet information in the future rider (s). The car is now in my possession since the end of April 2013. I was very skeptical about the engine volume. My previous car was a Ford Mondeo 2.0 petrol from 2008 and had the idea to take a step back. I wanted less aggregation and an MPV-like model. So the only one who could offer something here was the Grand C-Max.

The car has surprised me in a positive way:
- the handling is just fine, even mention tight I think. The car it leans a little more about it than my previous Mondeo.
- Cubic says less about engine performance. I recently picked up my tent trailer and mark only that it hangs out. In that respect he is not inferior to the old Mondeo. You also feel a little push the turbo in your back. Those two liters of gasoline was more evenly. I have just driven a Megane 1.5 DCi Renault, this is somewhat stronger than the 1.0 EcoBoost. The EcoBoost is quieter.
- He's still delicious. You hear especially tire noise and wind noise.
- Good view all around.
- Navigation is clear. Just a pity that you can not change the voice and can play with the colors (I have the upgraded Sony radio).
- The speed stays nice and low (120 km / h is around 2800 rpm in his 6). According to the ECOnetic fashion should I switch very quickly (at 2,000 rpm) but I still manage very, very against my (engine technical) I feel.
- Consumption is now 7.3 liters per 100 km. When the car was new, this was 8.2 liters per 100 km. The car has become significantly more efficient.
- At 500 km I had abroad roadside. When starting a hard thud, no power and noise of a broken exhaust. Through Ford Assistence came ADAC, it appeared that the turbo hose at the front was loose. I had already seen yourself "had to" wait for the ADAC. Afterwards in control at the dealership in Holland there appeared caught a snake at all. A little sloppy Ford, but eventually everything is solved.
- The seats are slightly worse than in my Mondeo. The length of the seat feels slightly shorter (but is in theory the same length). Now I am 1,96 m so that does not help.
- There is also a gadget, reverse parking. Very funny, but it works again. 1 time "he was still on the sidewalk.

For now I am a very happy rider and wonder how the car complies with the trailer when we go on vacation to the mountains.

(running costs are adequate, have no insight here)
continued (10,300 km)

With the fully packed car roof box and folding been on vacation to the mountains. No problem for the car to pull the trailer. With a cruising speed of 100 km / h (on the counter) towards destination in 5th gear. In 6th gear would go, but then the torque when overtaking very limited. In his five you back to about 85 km / h and then still easily overtake a truck.

Fit also riding in the mountains (without trailer) is fine, sat pull. I do not feel that, compared to my previous car (2.0 l Mondeo) to hand pull.

The only issue is getting used, including folding. The engine brake very little on the engine so quickly choose another gear and ride in his second down the mountain. Continue braking is not an option. In his second makes the engine more easily than 4000 rpm at normal speed down. Despite this, you notice that in terms of sound barely in the car.

The consumption of 7.3 l / 100 km to 7.6 l / 100 km gone. Covered with rather it. In its totality drove more than 3,000 km.

In general, the car drives very easy on the mountain and I am very satisfied with the performance.
Fine car (20,000 km)

By now it is time for service. You do not notice to the drive that it is necessary. Few small things that just need to be attended.

This car bought due zzp job and painting. My last a Passat station wagon was not practical enough for this. 2nd owner bought a coffee shop owner who had taken him from a private individual. Very cheap bought related conditions with some maintenance. After a beurtje two new bands, diesel filter, he was again ready for use. An average of 15 - 20k per year an economical and versatile car. At the 1st MOT disapproval on putcorosie vd rear brake lines offer refresh: nearly 500, -. I saw nothing and got a second opinion went to another garage, which was rejected and told that if she would approve. Corrosion was really minimal and therefore approved. after a year of trouble-free ride back to inspection. Advance new exhaust underneath due sporty sound and approved again.
Meanwhile 3rd year in which surely some maintenance was needed: timing belt and water pump replaced. Multi Belt was bad so even replaced. On the advice of my mechanic now replace the brake lines, however, for a third vd garage price! drive and stop 1keer cases (diesel filter leak. replaceable and drive again). for the last test four new tires on it because of ash winter and again by the MOT. The total cost which I have been issued so far to repair since the purchase are well within the "normal maintenance costs." So I'm happy about this !!

That still shows a real audible diesel it is much quieter the buttons are typical Opel

By switching to a new job meant that another car. Initially, the Skoda Superb station was to be the first choice, but in the spring (January-April), this proved not to buy a 20% performance. And I wanted to retain the 20% addition. Due to a caravan and three older children I do like also wanted a large car. Ultimately, the choice fell quickly Opel, I try every time if I could choose a car from the boss, choose another car. So do not like doing a colleague of mine who has been his 4th Passat.

What strikes me immediately after 250km drive:. seats, great and the space around you diesel drive quiet, the car is very quiet anyway and runs very smooth speed is there enough, you're so on the 160.I have a piece driven by Germany. the 200 is reached quickly. Because it is silent you drive faster than you think. I had this as leading car Megane Scenic Dci ... That still shows a real audible diesel it is much quieter the buttons are typical Opel, this works by itself though. navigation is again getting used to, I do not intuitive. the sound quality of the stereo is certainly good to mention (for me at least good enough!) and the iPod is connected quickly, which is the next 3-4 years enjoy again. Too bad you can not iPod out of sight store that was well regulated in the Passat, which had an extra box I glovebox.

The children (aged 14, 13 and 8 years), the rear seats are all great and they have good visibility, they also like that the rear windows can all the way down!

Remarkably adblue you must refuel. There's a tank of 8 liters, which is approximately 8000 km goes along. The AdBlue filler cap underneath the diesel filler neck. I have yet to figure out just where you can refuel adblue. There seems to be a notification if the AdBlue is low. you can not start the car ie. if there is insufficient adblue present!

Later, following an update concerning consumption and other issues.
Disclaimer: The data are fictitious star, the car is leased. The number of stars for comfort and performance to be given by me.
Another 7000 km further ... (7068 km)For example, 7000 km. The car is always better to sit around me, I find it a pleasant companion. Meanwhile slide kilometers under me positive and negative with yet to notice a couple of matters:
-The road holding is superb, it is as if balloon tires underneath. The tires must be quite hard (2.8 bar), he would not so woolly ride. So tires are 2.8 bar, which is also the eco mode.
Consumption hovers around 6.0 liters per 100 km on the last 7000km. I must say that there is ridden regularly in Germany and Zafira regular tap 200. That he's doing differently effortlessly and in great peace. Normally 160 rate in Germany, which is something else as rush hours in the Netherlands of course. At long stretches in the Netherlands during peak time consumption is approximately 5.0-5.3 liters per 100 km. For a 1600kg heavy car is not a bad use.
-The Seat is now set correctly, it does not always play with electric lumbar support provides a good result. Just keep practicing.
-The Rest of the car is wonderful, no clear diesel hum makes me more regularly to catch me then allowed tougher row.
-Tja, And then the radio. Who has occasionally sometimes some things, the iPod is not recognized, and one time I had to even it out of the fuse, there was nothing more to begin with. Also did one time the knobs no longer. The sound quality I am very pleased. Voice activated calling is possible, also other things you can control with your voice. I am not going to ... Oh, too bad you can not stream Bluetooth audio.
-In Episode there was an automatic cap on, so no more fudge with a cap. After the first refueling I had been arguing with that. A sort of cover is in what was already gone after the first time. Downside was that you can not press all the trade of the nozzle. So it was as if the constant tank was almost full. Upon delivery I also got along with the ordinary cap, which is so in right now. Just another twist so.
-The Auto light moves slowly in tunnels, where the lights of the Peugeot and the Passat actually more or less directly concern when entering a tunnel, it takes the Zafira some 100 meters more, sometimes a little on the late side. For the entertainment of the lamps is the same. Not really annoying, I think worth noting.
-The Automatic wipers contrast respond well once again, the sensitivity is highly configurable. You stand still, then stop the wipers, row your resume, then they start again. Fine.
-The Cupholders are super, a bottle of water and large thermos cup (coffee) can simultaneously join !!
-The Space in the rear is clear for 3 long (volleyball) boys 15 more than enough ntje course front. You can check who is chosen to drive the next time.

Oh, one time I was almost home but I still had a short drive to allow complete automatic cleaning soot filter. Strange that a car you say you have a piece to drive ...

An update follows, I wonder what I'm going brands adblue in the Zafira.
More than 11 000 km ... (11 168 km)And still everything was fine, the radio had only one time a spontaneous reboot. And further the kilometers slip under me. Strange, I think the day counter returns to 0 after 2000 km, I put this always the first day of the month 0 to see what I per month row and consumption. Well, now slightly different count so.
Incidentally, still no mention adblue, I drive but just until I get a message, adblue they have only here in Enschede at the Shell in 20 gallon drums ;-P (Yet once more searching ..)
Still not Adblue medling (22,000 km)The kilometers are quieter under me, in the Netherlands while the consumption in the on-board computer about 6.0 liters per 100 km. That remains stable.
Concerning the adblue yet even called by the supplying dealer just by driving by the workshop manager, the adblue message comes naturally. So after 22 000 km are simply not mentioned, we drive on ...
30000 km turn (30,000 km)The first turn, no problems exist where the dealer what need to do to have. also filled adblue, so I expect the next 30,000 km no reports about adblue.
After the May (44,000 km)So, was during the May holidays here by car and down to Tuscany and Rome visited here. During the journey, there appeared to be more than 2 hours of backup for the Gotthard, but then over the San Bernardino Pass in one day ... 1500 km ... Again, like the previous cars, like the car after a few hundred km is becoming more economical driving. Rider with luggage and cruising at 140 km / h (where permitted) a consumption of 6 l. per 100 km. Not bad.
Unfortunately, in Rome typed a diamond (the small of the back door) and stole some stuff. Luckily it was the small window. The house bought a roll duct tape and sealed. This went fine, even during the journey. Replacing bljkt more difficult, it is not only the small window, but the whole frame what needs to be replaced ...
After more than 3300 km back, fine touring car and enough torque to drive over the Alps, I already sense now to hang behind the caravan and again to go on vacation !!
Another update (125.000 km)It's been a while. Meanwhile, there is not so much exciting happened on a new clutch and steering post. For coupling, something with a balance thingy, the car has been two weeks in a foreign dealer. Meanwhile, a similar Zafira Diesel given as loan car, so that was no problem. Something else strange was the wheelhouse. It was tricky at long straights to make small steering movements, you should always send a small resistor. That made you drive straight on something angular and not pleasant. This proved to be a known issue and has been replaced under warranty.
Meanwhile, again two summers with the Opel Been move to Italy. What you would expect from a diesel 136pk: ease and an average of 1 to 10 with a 1300-ton trailer.
All in all a great trip car in which life is good, with the known defects of the radio where you get used to.
I also think it's nice to report, I row every week through Germany on a piece where you can ride unlimited. Driving there sometimes 220 on the counter, more than 200 km / h real GPS kilometers, according to the spec's is 193 max ... And at a 1.6 diesel engine of 1,600 kilos, not bad I guess so!

After 10 years to have been in possession of the first legendary Renault it was time for a new one

After 10 years to have been in possession of the first legendary Renault it was time for a new one. After 200,000 kilometers had the gearbox bearing 3rd gear given the spirit of our friend. This time it would be a diesel in connection with new activities. A diesel air conditioning was adequate. There was a nice copy in The Hague and proved to be the best choices. Au revoir et bienvenue diesel fuel! not start the first time (193 551 km). It was time .. Just started a blog to keep AutoWeek, your car suddenly not start. After just an afternoon here on the forum and looking around at all the ghost stories about the Scénic have read fiction was still just reality. From one moment to the next there was a strange noise from the starter motor and electronics all died. All kinds of notifications on the dashboard that the brakes would have gone and the light was no longer active with repetitive beeps and messages reminded me of the true nature of the beast.

Luckily I was clear enough mind to realize that can not have eternal life an old battery in combination with cold, damp weather. After having looked around on forums proved that thought not to be unrealistic and I have the batteries of our other car (Renault Clio) hung on the Scénic and with some effort the diesel came back to life. After a while had some difficulties with the French philosophy of building cars I'm driving gotten the same day with a new battery. It appears again that your mind (which considers French misery as standard) has relatively little difficulty solving problems.

Our Scénic last year had many problems with the injection and EGR valve and the like. Since that I myself am going to ride in the car, 'm now what tickled (ie chipped) and have more power contact is all in the past. Forums you read for example that the EGR valve open only at constant speeds and slowly clogging.
Therefore, it is normally so that you clean the valve once in a while.
Sounds all well and good, but an afternoon of dancing between the Germans do wonders in your Scénic. The valve has repeatedly about 10 minutes may be open at a constant speed, V-Power Diesel way. So I found out that "he even 8 km / h faster than can the manufacturer (173 km / h reached on GPS instead of 165). After that afternoon seemed to sound the diesel also healthier.

All in all I am beginning more and more to believe that if you love your car, you also get everything back. More torque provides the "free rein" to your motorcycle and in my case very smoothly on track.
Maybe it's not for everyone .. But who has a little knowledge of cars combined with some technical understanding, a long way to come up with the French friends!
220K like a charm (220 550 km)

Again a long time since the last update ... A long time spent time on the forum, but after reading back my review until now yet again become enthusiastic. Definitely give the number of views over yet again the motivation!

We are now 30,000 km further since the last update and miraculously, the car only get better ride ever since! A long time have long been there no excessive cost to the car (a leak ridden band during vacation after). So I did last summer vacation road trip through Italy of 5,000 kilometers made it. The first 4,000 kilometers are'm gone without a struggle. Unfortunately we were on the way back, just before Switzerland, probably cloudy diesel refueling at a local petrol station. In Switzerland we have therefore had 4x the message that the injection would be faulty, but the engine sputtered not happy. Then in Germany, just as the previous holiday, filled up the tank with V-Power and freude am fahren driven further home. This time we stayed in the night (cool air) tapped 176 on the GPS. With a roof box on top, yet without even one report of a faulty injection. Thus we have the Scénic without the hassle of driving 212,000 to 217,000 km in two weeks.

Now stands' ie a wheel bearing had broken the 220,000 kilometers and recently. Therefore, the brake discs and are equal but replace bearings on both sides. It ended just keeps maintenance to this kind of mileage. Now he rides smoother (read: "smoother") than ever and even the slight vibration from the armrest disappeared.
Furthermore, 'he just had a normal maintenance and to get to the rear wheels begin to be replaced. That's still a little thing; the tires of this model Scénic wear by definition skewed off ... Apparently they have done that at Renault for the handling, so be it.
Motor considering there is nothing to complain about. He again has fresh oil tank and I regularly V-Power. I hope that the quality of maintenance will bear fruit in the 350,000 kilometers!

Note: I'm back after reading my last post was exactly a year ago without knowing it! 27000 km a year so.

I've always been a fan of the Seat and especially the Ibiza 6K2

After my studies, I was looking for a nice affordable car. I've always been a fan of the Seat and especially the Ibiza 6K2. After some research, I hesitated between a sport or a 1.6 Cupra. The reason for this is that the other gasoline models less sit in the options. Standard 6K2 is equipped with a gray dashboard and gray door panels. I wanted a design in which they are black, which I think have a much more luxurious feel. Because I was looking for a petrol car I had the choice between the 1.6 sport 101pk or 156pk with the Cupra.

The first car I've seen is instantly become my car.
A black Ibiza in 2000 with 128,000 on the clock. It was 2012 and the books were neatly kept until mid 2010.

After purchasing addressed some minor issues.

- A strange vibration under the roof. Seat has adhesive used to glue the roof to the rafters. This glue was destroyed and the roof was loose on the rafter. This caused to sound as I closed the door and drove over a bumpy road. For this detached heaven and reaffirmed the roof with sealant. Problem solved.
New MOT (139.000 km)

In February I had the car another year in succession. In the first year had a few minor problems.

The roof was shaking what I had described and had dissolved, no more trouble had.

AC was not working properly. This was because there was broken a relay so the air con started, but the fen was not cooperating. A 2nd hand relay searched and problem was rectified immediately and the air conditioning was working properly again.

For the MOT new exhaust put under the car, that I had already ordered once but was now really. At the same time the brake pads replaced behind. Probably the car has once been on the handbrake while driving for all blocks were cracked / broken by the heat.

Also, I replaced the window mechanism of the driver. This suddenly made a strange noise and was very difficult to close. This is an ailment of Seat.

There was an ABS malfunction in the car. This was because an ABS sensor right not working well and it has been replaced.

All in all I have a lot of fun to the car. Have the car original 15-inch wheels bought which I now use in winter.
For the summer I bought 17-inch OZ wheels. State very nice and runs nice and sporty.
Overall impression of the car is excellent. The car drives perfectly, enough feeling in control and pleasantly fast. All I sometimes miss cruise control.

If I was not a big problem to get this car that I still will ride a few years.
Overhaul + APK (153.000 km)

Another fresh MOT on the car.

In the meantime themselves what changed in the car to make it to my own taste.
Cupra cars with headlights, these are slightly darker than the standard. Here I used aftermarket xenon.
A Cupra steering wheel. This steering wheel is leather but slightly thicker, feels pretty solid and sporty to.
Cupra interior. Chairs with leather combined with gray dust. Looks great in a black car and they sit.

Some maintenance on a number of issues addressed again last year.

The ABS warning came back. It turned out that the ABS controller was broken. Here was water come in and thereby gave an error. For this I looked a 2ehands regulator and this placed interference immediately disappeared.
Leakage had in the car. Floor behind the driver's seat was soaked. There was a bond line under my window come loose (in the gutter) (same adhesive as the roof) result, there was water on the center bar in the car and came back my driver's seat out. Long searched for and eventually resolved.
Deployed a new battery because the original battery ran out.

My original wheels I sold with winter tires.
Now I have a set of original 6K2 Cupra wheels painted anthracite and around it put winter tires.

My overall impression of the car is still fine.
A number of criticisms regarding the car:

- The handles on the inside are quickly ugly. This can be solved by making them completely bald and spraying as yourself. Made them myself matte and this shows like new.

- The SEAT Sound System (SSS) is not very reliable. The dashboard is equipped with a beautiful screen, looks very neat. But this screen does not always quite good, unfortunately that is a malady of this car. Few 6K2 which the screen always works. Fortunately does my screen it 9 times out of 10 right.

- CD changer in the trunk worked with me not always. I substitute for a Yatour locker. This is in the box under particular wheel and here USB, AUX and SD can be played with rather than the CD changer. Works very nice

addition, a really nice and fun car!
Major service and MOT (166.000 km)

Last February, the car was back to a new MOT and thereby be carried out immediately, but a major overhaul.
For the APK was only a light license plate light broken, further he came through it without problems.

At the large turn no strange things come across, so I drive the car for MOT / turn to the next MOT / turn.

I have with the MOT and overhaul still leave something to change the car simultaneously. I always thought that the front was too high compared to the back. I could take over lowering springs to the front so they are put under. Now the height at the front is nicely balanced with the rear. Front has thereby become slightly stiffer, but still fine!
There are other summer wheels came down, I wanted something different, and that his new RS4 become rims. State m nicely I think!

Slowly I am to look for a replacement for the Ibiza. Not because it is no longer good rides but I want a slightly larger car. Purely for convenience really. But as long as the Ibiza without any strange things zn laps does he still stands there for a while at the door.

Nothing exciting on, so that was it again!
sold car (169.000 km)

Eventually after much deliberation decided to sell the car, in spite of that I said to keep the drive as long as there are no major problems with it.

The car is still delicious, but I'm ready for a slightly bigger car with more space and a little more comfort.

I bought the car with 128,000 on the clock, and sold 169,000

had Incredibly fun of the car, and several times had some bad luck but that did not affect my valuation of the car.

Car is well on the way, looks good, is nice and sporty and continue just fine.

Now sold the car and I are the successor to the door. This has become a Mazda 3 2.0 GT-M 2006. Again, I will again make a review!
