Since December 2011 I have an Exeo ST TDI business high. Bought with 6000 km on the clock, then three months old. The first owner was the entry level which is too low, the story was ....
Okay, it may not be a super exciting model, but what a great car! Now I'm almost four years and 160,000 km and the car drives like new. He dropped a stitch once a faulty oxygen sensor at 85 000 km, cost about 200 euros. Furthermore, only regular maintenance (according indicator to me 30000 km). Even brake pads / discs are still original and definitely get the 180,000 turn of (fine) dealer Benthem in Meppel. In short, definitely worth five stars for reliability! What might consider is that the Seat to me a good living, long (highway) rides.
The press may then some derogatory be talked about a recycled A4 but that does not do justice to this great driving car. The comfort is top: fine suspension, good seats, low noise and especially a lot of peace in the controller. Last summer smoothly drove in one day from Italy home ... No squeal!
In terms of equipment, the Exeo is also top: I have the fine (Audi) audio / navigation / phone unit: smooth operation, easy to use and again totally hassle free. The cruise control works flawlessly and is blindly operate with an additional lever behind the steering wheel. Outdated ?? I find it works better than buttons on the steering wheel in my previous car, or the small switch on the turn signal to other products of the Volkswagen group. Furthermore, a good working light / rain sensor and convenient parking sensors front and rear. Almost as useful: the good all-round visibility ... Where a somewhat dull model is already good for ;-)
Well, it gets a little monotonous all, but I'm really very happy with this car. The 2.0 TDI with 143 hp has enough power for me and it sounds good if you him again by pulling. The flexibility of the block is very nice, even from 1500 rpm (90 km / h) in 6 he goes by without a murmur. Incidentally, I do not follow always the shift indicator. 1200 rpm in sixth I think too low, even if the engine does just that too (though with some more tremors in the poker). I drive an average of 1:19 if I stick to the max speeds. In heavy traffic by up to 110 km / h he dives under 1:20. Like I really neat for such a strong and fairly heavy car. But, here too, of course, plays that have little in the city line. The only score for running that down, is the high road tax for the diesel. The charge was not tender, because really a current car is not underrated Seat. Buy used and just drive long this problem also dissolves again. I am a car enthusiast and it goes with me always some "itch", but if a car is as TOP and amortization terms now becomes fun, row, I still happily after a few years. With every time a big smile on my face!
Oh yeah, it seems to be a Volkswagen sjoemeldiesel ... So just wait and see what that will bring .... Really nervous I is not ...
I am also now to both new winter and summer tires . I decided to try out the new Michelin Cross Climate all-season tires. Saves costs, the beautiful 17 "wheels can sit under stay and Michelins seem to do well on dry and wet surfaces I will update my experiences again..
In conclusion, I have in the past over 35 years a lot of cars drive, sometimes more beautiful and exciting than this Exeo, but this is the absolute highlight for me!
What this car has a nice powerful engine compared to my Vito 112 CDI (I know it's no comparison anyway). The space you have in relation to the Vito is much less but the comfort it against ...
I ride for my job a lot rides from 5-10 km. In addition, he is heavily loaded, and during these journeys I get an average of 8.6 l / 100 km when I calm to do but it is difficult with this ability. I am very pleased with the space / comfort / performance and perhaps less cornering. Since I'm always with a load in the boot drive of about 250 kg, I have this summer helper springs be put under and that does have yielded improvements. I despite the good performance still considered more torque, but did not do it. Am actually quite satisfied so.
Really I am content with the boot (less than 17 cm longer than the previous X-trail) between the rear seat and the valve more than 80 cm or more even when the bank right design .
Last winter also been to the resort; snow in abundance. But with winter straps and 4wd do the X-trail is not crazy. Snow chains let soak in the drawer below the bubbele floor.
Handy if you need them anyway once ...
Particulate Filters (75,000 km)
I have spent the past 40.000km 2 x had a particulate filter that would not regenerate anymore, despite several attempts to set it in motion. So to the garage where they reset the engine management and 8l. new oil in doing a E 230 -
Will probably all my short trips. Now agreed that this is done before a turn is made, and is still changing oil.
I also last summer for vacation crossbars between my roof rails mounted serving a roof box. I did not think that people come unsolicited report that they find very tight lie on your roof box! a roof box!
I am despite the DPF problem yet in my very pleased with my Nissan because wrong nixxan ...
Buffalo (162.000 km)
I have already a long time nothing heard about my X-trail. This buffalo just remain faithful to do what you ask him. Whatever the weather, road or no road. Because I often on small back roads and / or off-road driving, the chassis gets above average heavy for the elect ... The last time I also replaced a couple fusekogels and stabilizer bars because of my work. Furthermore, only the normal work; tires and brakes. Motor can not fault, but once had an update of the engine management, last year. The soot filter no problems yields.
Excessive use of the tailgate, I note, however, that the springs of it getting weaker, but that is no disgrace when you consider that he already 6 years is at least 30 times a day to open and close.
I'm still very pleased with this buffalo!
On the 2 tons
Holidays without 3rd gear (186,000 km)
Last summer was something different than I expected ...
I had a long day behind the car and stood packed and ready, ready to go. My wife would drive the first piece. After 2 km we drove up the driveway from the highway. When accelerating from 2 to 3 seemed odd or four wheels blocked and to "brushing" sound racked my ears. For the holidays not to torpedo the discussion, whether or not to let out early on the link already discontinued very soon.
Behind Cologne I have taken over the wheel again, but you guessed it: the exact same story to upshift from 2 to 3. 4,5 and 6 went flawlessly. There were also no noise.
What are you doing on Friday night? Call roadside assistance? Or by driving while no lights lit stairs or strange noises? We chose the latter.
Just before the Swiss border we had booked a hotel for the night. When I got off the freeway and switched to the 3 x 3 was lucky. The third was dead and resulted in neutral. After consulting with my brother (a mechanic), I decided to drive by and skip the third. That went fine, a bit file after. Mondays been to Tuscany to the garage, after consultation with my Nissan dealer and alarm service. As I was told by an otherwise non-Italian neat, modern, English-speaking friendly mechanic that there was no objection as long as no noise was to prosecute the holiday now employed means without 3.
Two weeks later and 4000 km further did I overhauled my X-trail after our holidays at my dealer and the gearbox is there and replace clutch. € 1,980 excl. further, but disgust fit as a fiddle ...
may hope now, after this (still) great holiday, both the X-trail as I for a long time at it again ...
