the head and chain overhaul was carried out by the VR6 specialist in Aalten (now known as TVS engineering ). This revision was necessary because the compression was not in order and thus the car sometimes walked on five cylinders. After the revision was happy everything perfect again.
The most recent maintenance was carried out by dealer Heemskerk in Alphen aan den Rijn. This company specializes in these Volkswagen models and can always think along well with needed repairs and maintenance.
The only repair, it is on the schedule at this time is a new outlet. The current is still airtight, but it will not last long. An original is unfortunately nowhere to be found and if you find all over this takes the prize. So the alternatives are imitation or stainless steel. The latter is preferred because such an outlet will last much longer. The downside is that the sound will change and that is exactly one of the most characteristic features of a VR6. A stainless steel exhaust can be quite pricey.
Meanwhile, I can get a second outlet imitation for a decent price, so it will be replaced in two weeks.
Given the car actually is a kind of inheritance, it has become not just a car to me. Personally, I have nothing to do with Volkswagens, but this one is so special to me. Through the years is to become a kind of long-term project of us to keep the car while driving as original. Naturally, here quite a bit of sense when to adjust. If a non-original part lasts longer than this will also be an option.
