I voted for the Subaru Outback chosen because of the distinctive unusual design of the car in combination

I voted for the Subaru Outback chosen because of the distinctive unusual design of the car in combination with similarly unusual technique of 4wd technology, CVT transmission and boxer engine. For me, a very successful combination.

I chose Tungsten gray. The color has shades ranging from light gray to light goudig. I have doubts about Ice Silver and Crystal White. The Ice Silver, I found something blue and a bit ordinary. White I did not dare because of its contagiousness. Also, I think the car is just too big to be ordered in white. Eventually it seemed to me flat and boring. Tungsten color gives the car a distinguished and chic look. Because it is a Mica paintwork, the car looks like from any angle and under different lighting conditions have a different color. Sometimes light, sometimes dark gray, then gray goudig.

The car smoelt very tasty. In particular, the Front. The hexagonal grill with the headlight units with LED edges appeal to me.
I have decorated the car with fender around, mud flaps front and rear skid plate for. Combined with the Tungsten color and privacy glass gives it a cool contrast. It's a tough thick container to see, without being pretentious (BMW, Volvo XC) or just boring (Passat, Mondeo). The car has a nice streamlined shape because the windshield is relatively flat compared with SUVs and rear relatively inclined compared to standard drives. Because the Premium version for the car is also equipped with an open roof and polished 18-inch wheels.

It is difficult to compare the Outback with a certain category of cars. It is not an SUV and a BMW X3 or X5, Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, for example, or Toyota RAV4. Nor is it a station wagon as a BMW 3 or 5 series, VW Passat, Ford Mondeo or Mazda 6. You can even compare him the best with an Audi A4 or A6 allroad or Volvo XC70 while these cars, if carried out equivalent, are much more expensive. Recently there is also a Volvo V60 Cross Country is available. In week 38 cars in 2015 can be read that the V60 with a T5 engine (245pk) is offered without 4wd and equipped with the necessary extras for € 62,000. This is almost € 20,000 costs more than the Outback without 4wd that is. The feeling that the car is distinctive and unique is also caused you see him rarely. Since I took the decision to buy the car I'm no specimen encountered on the road.

Interior
The interior is unfussy good quality. The seats and upholstery for example, the armrests are soft and comfortable. Less hard than in German cars for example. The seats are 8-way power adjustable so you can always find a good driving position. It is the first car in which the lumbar support fits really well on my back. The electric sliding sunroof works perfectly. What is striking is that the wind does not "flapping" in the interior at certain speeds. The light in the interior is very nice result.
Fair is fair and the average Audi, BMW or Mercedes or Volvo gives a higher quality experience. On the other hand, who has ever been in a 5 year old Volvo knows that the coating as well as plastics release especially in the door handles and steering wheel.
Subaru uses slightly harder plastic types. This seems at first sight less attractive, but still made for eternity. The future will tell.
The steering is well in hand and that it is not too large, it seems even sporty. The controls for cruise control and infotainment are clearly arranged and intuitive to operate.

The infotainment system is quite attractive and works very well. The layout of the navigation is a little old fashioned designed. The sound quality is above average geodetic quality, despite the fact that 12 speak starry Harman Kardon system is not delivered in the Benelux. The basses are pretty solid and by drawing the sound is good. Perhaps it is also because of the DAB tuner. You must set it as well. The connection with my Iphone is quite good. The iTunes library is very easy to operate, also from the steering wheel. Even spotify works in this way. Unfortunately Mirror Link does not work with iPhone. The added value of AHA (Harman Kardon infotainment software) I have not yet discovered.

In the back there is sufficient space. Conveniently, the rear seat can be put in a reclining position. The luggage compartment is also more than big enough and the power tailgate is a nice gadget, but it does a litle bit.

Performance and handling.
After I ordered the car, I read several reviews that desired showed the ability of the 2.5i. I can only say that this is complete nonsense. Journalists are just a bit too spoiled their six-cylinders, I say. And of course, I'd also have preferred 3.6R from America with 256pk. In normal use and movement speed of the 2.5i does not exceed 3,000 rpm from. Cruising at 150? No problem. The CVT is simply wonderful in that it keeps the engine nice in the background during normal use. Accelerate harder you, you feel the six preset speeds allowing continuous roar, there is no question. If you are in a manual transmission car accelerates wail not unlike the CVT. I dare say that this tank is at least as comfortable or more comfortable than a manual transmission and some dual-clutch automatic.
The CVT can quite easily at the first traffic light're gone.
But let's be honest here again, it's not the 245pk Volvo T5 in 6.5 sec to 100 sprint. But you will not miss the moment. The 175pk and 235NM torque are ample. And then there's the wonderfully tasty boxerroffeltje in the background.

Striking is the rate at which the CVT will switch if this controlled with the steering wheel flippers. No delay like an automatic or dual-clutch. Just skip to the next gear. Fast. Along with the boxer engine you find yourself in a much faster car.

Subaru seems Type car to have found a good balance between comfort and sportiness. The car seems to be very much on course and is like a rock on the road.

What could be better?
As I wrote before, the material used in the interior just short of European quality. Although the chairs sit lateral support Slightly should be tighter so you could sit a little more enclosed. The center armrest is large enough, but not too forward.
The power tailgate is working a little too slow. Maybe it close for safety is a litle but access would be slightly faster. What I regret is that the beautiful LED strips illuminate in the lights when the car is unlocked with the remote control. This is also not adjustable. Too bad if you walk to the car in a dark parking garage. And especially since you yourself that beautiful Ledstrips never see burning.
These are just little things that detract in any way to the fun and quality experience that gives this car.
