On my order new lease list was also a Citroen Cactus. That car fit nicely in name in line focus, Prius and Lexus, but the delivery of the cactus was unclear and I found the dashboard too ugly and too simple, in terms of interior similar models of the 60s many French cars. Altogether gave the car a feeling that I was looking for. The appearance, however, that I find original and a little Rivella. Strange, but nice.
So it was the Ford Fiesta 1.5 diesel with bells and whistles and "only" 14% addition for the delivery of 01 01 2016 / (Our Government would continue to seek money from the workers and I refuse to pay 20% of Rutte and companions).
First motor. The silent Diesel provides a great power and the number goes up to just above the 190 and which is higher than the specifications. Because I live in Germany, is 190 not unusual speed. Overall I am satisfied, moreover, a driver 140 km / h are not unhappy with this size car. But I'm looking mainly to increase in the ability to overtake and it does this reasonably well and Fiesta're 100% better than the rent Polo I had before. In which, for the highway totally unsuitable caddy, the power was completely gone at any speed above 95 km / h.
No, this Fiesta. The engine will work and I expect the next few months the performance is even better.
The car is stable, quiet and comfortable. But you also may well expect for an optical small car of almost € 21,000 with a lowered suspension and m too small, but wide tires.
What goodies one would expect for this price? Light and rain sensors, heated and electrically folding mirrors, park assist, electronic dimming mirror (which works very well), keyless access and closure, navigation (in multiple ways adjustable), voice control phone ... You feel him already; I speak in the name of people I want to call and the connection is quickly established (according to those who I called very audible) Illuminations in the cup holders and the box under the futuristic dashboard, a Sony sound system, 12-volt connections , USB, additional antenna, start / stop system, and so on.
Pleasantly sporty and sturdy chairs. A nice lumbar support and fortunately no French-style soft seats. Four weeks rent Polo gave back problems and after two days Fiesta those complaints away and that's no coincidence.
Real drawbacks I have not yet experienced after 2850 kilometers. A weaker point I find the switch. Not as razor sharp as in which I so detested and highly recommend Polo 1.2 diesel off. In that caddy cut Poker or in the next gear.
The Fiesta has just too much space if one wants to switch. Just too much space means that one must turn very conscious not to miss work and I think that a miss. Ford can and should be this much, much better. Finally, we are living in 2015 and not in 1990, the year I first drove a Fiesta and after 40,000 Poker had in my hands, literally; Poker was loose and had to remove himself from the shaft and that is a very bad feeling.
Curiously, there appears now to be a margin should have been observing and correcting long at Ford. For € 21,000 can I expect that poker disable cuts a Teutonic long sword. This Ford is indeed manufactured in Germany and one had the feeling quality must fulfill all a generation ago. I can not imagine in any case that the engineers who were developing the clutch 100% satisfied with the result. I give the link a meager 7.
The appearance is nice. The front of the chrome grille and the LED lighting exudes something of force. But then again who matte back .... The first Ford Focus Wagon had that too. A sharply cut front and by wimps invented soft and spineless back. It is the designers or producers also succeeded here again. A well-cut front side and an anonymous, almost clumsy, back. My question to Ford: "Using two different designers for the front and back"? If so; absolve the latter than on the spot, because this is not a design, it is a cowardly attempt on a gentle Friday to deliver a butt-design and therefore also get paid. Put the rear with a more powerful appearance at least 30 cm higher and cut horizontally until they reach a part of the side. LED bulbs there and lengthen the bumper with at least 5 centimeters. The rear spoiler is deeper and tighter. Then this Fiesta wins optically much more.
But the ultimate question is; I am satisfied after some 3000 km in ten days?
Yes, I'm surprised satisfied with this car that is my companion for the next three years. I have high expectations and which are already largely fulfilled now.
