After the first 5000 km to have ridden in my S-Max 2.5 seemed to me time for my first review

After the first 5000 km to have ridden in my S-Max 2.5 seemed to me time for my first review. Because my wish list in terms of options and performance was quite long, I have to look for a while, but eventually I saw the perfect performance at Alphabet lease.

It is a black one with S-Pack and Champions Pack really all possible options, including:
Bi-xenon headlamps with cornering lights, black Alcantara / leather with red stitching, aluminum pedals, lowered sports suspension, MS styling package consisting of different front bumper, side skirts, roof spoiler and other (molded) rear, parking sensors v / a, extra dark rear windows, touchscreen navigation, bluetooth with voice control, i-pod connection, 18-inch wheels, the headlining an Alpine DVD player with 10 inch folding screen with two wireless headphones and much more.

I think the S-MAX normally have a sporty uistralling, but with the other front and rear bumper, larger roof spoiler, rear bumper with diffuser molded in a light gray color and dark tinted rear windows, this is quite a sporty appearance.

The car was at Alphabet in Breda, but because we live we could pick him up eventually in Amsterdam a lot closer to Amsterdam. You also have to Alphabet standard 6 months warranty, with any repararties just may be done by your local dealer. Really a perfect solution, I am also very pleased so far about the handling of warranty cases.

And how he runs ?? I can only say fantastic! At low revs seems the 5 cylinder or a diesel, you have in any gear at the bottom of a lot of pull. The difference with my previous car, an Opel Zafira 1.9 CDTI 110 kW, however, is that the pulling force does not cease at 3,000 rpm, but certainly to 5,000 rpm continues unabated. Especially in his three there seems to be no end. Furthermore, the engine is silky smooth and I must occasionally look at my gearshift to see what gear I sit. And then the sound, even if it is described in other reviews, which gives the 5 cylinder still a beautiful and tasty hum!

My Opel Zafira also had a sports suspension and thereby cut quite sporty. But this S-MAX sports suspension is a tighter steering MPV.

And although he has dimension greater than the Zafira you have that driving is not really on. Furthermore, the vision for, the extra side windows, a lot better than in the Zafira. In the Zafira I missed sometimes sometimes a car or cyclist because it was behind the wide window style. And by large mirrors on the S-MAX is maneuvering despite its larger dimensions also a lot easier than in the Zafira. Said parkeersen-sensors front and rear, of course, also help. But his breadth of nearly 1.90 you still sometimes in the early fooled by the space of a plekkie in a parking lot.

What I also find two very nice options, the windscreen heating and cornering lights. The latter works by providing extra lamps under the mirrors. Especially in poorly lit streets this works very nice.

The front seat is perfectly set in electric. I personally love is high, but for people who do not want the buck to sit high chair can also be put in a position free layer. Furthermore, the poker fine shifting six-speed well within reach. Up front, you'll find good in space that S-MAX is much wider than the Zafira.

In the back you will find three equally large seats front and can be pushed back each about 10 cm. The legroom is ample and the width you have a lot of space. Three adult can seamlessly stay here a long journey. Especially with the Alpine DVD player to the ceiling ;-) which I figure it out I also just to play sound through the stereo.

The trunk is very large and nicely decorated with ample storage and a 12 volt socket.

And then consumption. It's no surprise that this car have a sip lust, but I knew in advance. The average varies from 1 to 9 and 1 to 10. We have little highway mileage, because otherwise the consumption had still been slightly more favorable. And with less than 15,000 km per year, the additional fuel costs also incalculable. And that I have known for about, because this is really the best driving car I've had so far.

Problems so far:
-raam driver remained at closing hang half and then completely opened. Under remedied warranty.
-right rear rim appeared to blow into seating unit. Under warranty replaced by a new rim.
-navigation doing very long time to calculate a route or lingers and find nothing. Update on radio / navigation under warranty performed by the local dealer. This has unfortunately not helped, but test other DVD navigation problem appeared to be solved. So now there's ordered a new DVD navigation, so this problem should be solved.
Auto 1 year in succession (137,000 km)

I have the car now one year into my possession and I therefore seemed about time for an update.

I have now 15,000 km driven by car and am still very satisfied.
The car is still super nice, the seats are perfect and after installing a new navigation DVD navigation works again after properly.

And I still find it special that in a car from 2009, the functions of radio / navigation / telephone / airconditioning all be controlled via a 7-inch touchscreen. The menus are simple and does not require much time to get through the operation.

It is still a beautiful and sporty appearance, especially by the MS styling package. In a standard export S-Max I like the gray, not keyed in color bumper namely really detract from the look of the car. And this can also find some cheap for a car in this price range.

Furthermore, I am a real "velgenman" and I found the 18-inch Y-rims actually just a size too small. Unfortunately, there are no official 19-inch wheels are available for the S-max. And the MS 20 inch rims are in my opinion a bit too big. While I find a cheek 35 mm also a bit too flat. After some searching finally been facing allegations by 19-inch wheels Mondeo. The Mondeo rims ie have the same pitch and ET values of the S-MAX. For more than a month, the S-MAX so on new 19-inch Sparkle Silver Y wheels with Bridgestone Potenza tire size 235-40-19. I myself am very pleased with the result. See also new pictures I've added.

Furthermore, it remains a wonderfully moving, spacious and sporty gezinsbak who also want to agree with all imaginable options.

Problems After my first review?
The car has shown us once stand the cause was a faulty battery. According to the engaged ANWB this is not unusual for a car of 5 years. So scissors I just below the "normal" usage.

Are there any downsides?
If downside I could mention the consumption, the average hovers around one in 9.5. This is mainly due to short city trips and rides to work on a road with lots of traffic. If I long stretches 130 km driving on the highway, he scored a neat one at 11. However, as already stated in my first review, I knew this in advance and I will not moan about.
Furthermore, I can think of no negatives at this time. Whether it should be the size of the car so many parking spot is really just too tight, but that's the price for driving a large / big car.

After about 10 500 kilometers and more than 185 hours (according to the onboard computer) have sat behind the wheel, it was time to put my experiences on paper.

6-11-15 episode and 4 months driving experience:
First, something about the delivery. The car was purchased by the MB dealer in Apeldoorn after leaving my C200 cdi with Amg package. Despite the fact that it is not a brand new car, but was a little over 1 year old taken all the time for the delivery. Really nothing the seller was too much and everything was explained well. My phone was set there on the spot Mercedes connect me. A good app which include consumption, tankage, maintenance, tire pressure, etc. can be read. It is also possible to use the phone to lock the vehicle if you do not know whether it is at all locked. Useful if you're in town and have doubts on the car have been closed in the parking lot. For me at least something new.

How now like to have driven a C180 petrol after more than 20 years in various diesel versions? I have mixed feelings about it. Now you can expect no torque comparable to a diesel car, but the traction is really against me. The top speed takes the car to nowhere. According to the book the car reach a top speed of 225 km per hour. With the best will in the world I get with great difficulty and after more than 12 kilometers a stand on the speedometer of 200 kilometers per hour. Flash meister on this 196 km per hour. Not that I want to get to top speed by definition, but I have a very bad feeling. Because I live on the German border, I can try it several times. Also on youtube to find movies with a counter with a c180 petrol of 235 km per hour.
I have contacted the dealer. During the next service will be looked after here. At the Mercedes Forum also asked a question about the speed. It was indicated that it could be the breedset that my car is equipped. Lag tires measuring 245/35/19 and 225/40/19. These are genuine Mercedes wheels.
The car sends further very tight. A cloverleaf can be taken without moaning tires at high speed. Despite the breedset it remains a comfortable car.
Switching suits me well. The gear changes accurately. Still, I miss the vending machine. Especially during traffic jams, this is still very tasty. My car is equipped with the so-called. Avant-garde exterior. Overall, I get a lot of positive comments about appearance. Inside, the car is quite basic. Opinions are divided on the big screen above the center console. Personally, I think it certainly will not be wrong. The control works fine via a touchpad with dial. This can be set navigation and vehicle settings. In itself fine but then you do not inadvertently touch the touchpad. Then another program can be activated ....
The voice control works fine otherwise. This I have no comments.

The automatic parking assistant works well in most cases. Yet already experienced a time that a car was not observed. So here but not too much confidence or better watch.
About attention assist, I could say no meaningful words. Despite the fact that everything is set not experienced that I got a warning that I was inattentive or tired.
The rear seats can be very easily folded down to create a large flat load floor.
The draw slippery parts in the interior, in one way or another a lot of dust.

consumption:
The consumption stands at 7.1 liters per 100 km. So let's say 1 in 14. Overall, I'm a calm driver but I do not come close to the manufacturer.

Cost:
Tapes
Not really cheap but ultimately can purchase for 880 euros continental ties. By buying was on all four tires have more than 4 mm profile. After 9000 km profile was similar to the slijtingsindicatoren. In this season is not really safe. Hence the choice for new rubber.

In the following details of a supplement. (anyway after the next service)
farewell (40 555 km)

Yesterday went to the dealer and proceeded to buy a diesel. Once I did this a few months I owned and tell the laws about I write a review.
Thanks for the comments.

Regarding the speed I got the tip to see how far you get the speedometer in 5th gear. Got after much insistence about 210 meters on ....

What surprised me otherwise positive is the intelligent light system. Fortunately, I do not miss it because my next car it is present. Better than xenon and adaptive high beam is very convenient. You would almost be lazy.
