Renault GS III, exactly three years after I picked him up (km position 165K). The car has never let me down and was very practical in use. The driving characteristics were fine, not sporty, but not really French. Renault has the right for each other.
I decided to think of the addition and have over the lease me. In August Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV ordered execution instyle the second most expensive version that has everything you could wish for. Color standard white and options as a towbar, LED fog lights, protective strips on the doors and black rims.
It is certainly not unique car stronger you get more than one at a daily basis.
It started with me in 1st instance solely for the addition and there were three cars on my list:
- Octavia Combi diesel 14%
- Outlander PHEV
- Peugeot estate blue lease diesel 14%
The Peugeot I find absolutely the best of these 3 beautiful lines and the interior is nice and tight. However, I have a few times seen driving and I noticed that the back properly by hangs during loading. During trips with 4 people, dog and four MTBs is a big disadvantage for me. Further, the rear legroom less than the other 2.
The Octavia is simply a practical decent car that runs fine. Also, with the rear load does not drop rapidly through.
But I also go immerse myself in the art that the PHEV in the house. Also read a lot on the PHEV forum and it's also been a sport to drive as many electrical and adjust your driving habits.
After two test drives in the PHEV decided to take the step and to meet the challenge with my annual mileage of> 55K. Chances are that this is the 1st and last hybrid is the next 10 years I can ride given the changes in the tax environment vwb addition.
At home, the charging station is placed and realized in the office now six charging points. I have two colleagues hybrid or fully electric drive (either a different function with less km's). Continue 3 colleagues a PHEV drive even with lower mileage.
Finally, our director a Tesla drive in April and then half of the lease cars electric / hybrid.
What has the InStyle implementing all:
- HD lighting
. - Leather upholstery including cushion
- Electric slide / tilt sunroof
- to open electric boot lid
- Good sound system
- Multi-media system including navigators.
- Via Wifi is using an app almost everything by phone to be determined.
+ Eg the car heated / must be cooled before you
+ when the car load (eg at night)
+ check if all the doors are closed
+ lighting on and off
+ all the car's settings
Furthermore a list, but these are the basic things that every car.
What are the 1st impressions.
Driving is getting used to especially if you come from a diesel with manual transmission. You hear the car even when the gasoline engine will join the insulation is very good. It is also getting used because you have less eye on how fast you drive. The regeneration system (type of motor braking so the battery charge) is very convenient and by anticipating you can make good use of. The disadvantage is that following traffic not see brake lights while you strongly inhibited in the highest position.
Driving characteristics are good the car is stiff suspension and not really leans into turns. Chair was getting used to obtain a good position, but it is now good. The sitting comfort was getting used to the seats are harder than the Renault, but after a week I'm used to it.
I do not suffer from a "shaky" chair as you read look at other drivers.
I planned to go quieter ride Renault always drove too fast.
I was already planning to drive slower, but a new car seemed like a good time to start it and happens to be in the new year. I have the 1st week not drive faster than 100km / h (GPS speed) and it is striking that this is a great speed. You still get cars that are softer ride, but the stress is really much less. If you drive faster comes unnoticed more stress and aggression up. Another advantage is that the battery range is also larger and therefore more efficient. I also think you should drive you have the tax benefit and there may be some opposite efficiently as driver of a hybrid. Of course, everyone know this for yourself, but that's my attitude.
I was able to refuel en route not yet electrically since the lease me. forgot to send the additional fuel card. I received it by now and there can tomorrow use.
On consumption I can not really say I've totally tanked 75 gallons of gasoline and drove 1.100km. Here are also electrically driven km's at. I'm going to keep up with the future and will update later.
What I find less positive
- very bales that I do not have the X-line upgrade because the car had been in the Netherlands in September. The dealer had ordered the car very early on the advice of the importer with this consequence.
X-line also is not bolted in to unfortunately build.
- You have to like the car starts every time
enable eco button so that it more efficient drives would still be standard if you drive such a car.
- Everywhere is a beep for and that's annoying
- phone does not work fine with the Bluetooth system of the car while it would have to be compatible to Mitsubishi. The dealer put it to work
- Navi is very used to and does not compare to the TomTom out of the Renault. I also have to read a whole book (250 pages) to understand the multi-media system.
About reliability and running I can
therefore have nothing to say why one star.
To be continued.
Small update (2.500 km)
Meanwhile, the car two weeks in succession and 2.500km experience richer.
I think the car getting better ride and go more and appreciate him. The longest ride so far was 500km which I left at home with full battery and full battery to the place of my appointment. Then I drive so +/- 75km on battery and 425 km on petrol. I love it fixed up to 100km / h speed GPS. I can not say much yet about the consumption so I will wait a little longer.
TMC system works, but does not compare to Tom Tom live there, however, to live with.
What I do think is that the bales 3rd car in a row where the Bluetooth system does not work well with the phone. My current Sony Xperia SP would fully compatible to Mitsubishi
, but I suffer from interference and the connection just drops out during a call.
I have put reliability and cost 3 stars because it really comes across very negative 1 star.
To be continued.
Update (20,000 km)
The counter is now at 20.000km so time for an update of the review. The car has 20k on Monday his turn had a few points to see fewer positive things.
Positive:
- car drives very nice
- the high is good view of the road and the traffic
- interior space more than adequate
- space trunk not disappointing in practice even though it is much smaller than the Renault GS
- handling for a car of this size and weight more than good
- at hefty load or trailer rear remains quite high so not suffer from sagging and I am happy with imv the summer holidays.
- For heating or cooling is really a perfect invention
- the number of charging stations is not opposed even in smaller villages is often a charging present
Less positive:
- I too have suffered from a driver seat that moves. This is now at the dealership and I hear what they thus do
- Bluetooth and Sony xperia SP is a tragedy even if these have to be fully compatible to Mitsubishi
- the range of the battery is highly dependent on the temperature I have a few times up to 40 km ridden, but usually I do not go beyond 30km.
- Cruise control grabs not always good and sometimes choppy
- the standard white paint that I have is very sensitive vor rubble
I have absolutely no regrets choice for this car. I get it every day with great pleasure and driving is not a punishment.
I find it difficult to calculate an average overall consumption. The onboard computer has that option and itself is almost impossible to keep sure the electrical part is difficult to calculate.
Petrol car driving at an average speed of 110km / h at 1 12 to 13, which is reasonable. However, the speed up to 125-130km / h than the consumption 1 in 10.
The battery average is currently around 30km on a full charge. Home and office, the car is always connected to the charger and appointments I try as much as possible to find a charging station. Even when I
sometimes 5 to 10 minute walk, but I think no problem that hears what I am concerned with the choice for this car.
I wonder how the car holds during the summer holidays to Austria with 4 people, 1 dog, 4 mountain bikes and luggage. I think that the gasoline consumption in any case will shoot up. Fortunately, I can also fill up with fuel card abroad.
To be continued.
Setback (28,000 km)
The counter is now at 28.000km and drive more tasty though this weekend was different.
I went this weekend to Germany to go mountain biking. That means one bike on top and three on the trailer hitch. Further 2 adults and 2 children incl. Baggage. We had driven about 80km when I got the message on the A73 at Venlo "limited driving mode" with the mark of a turtle in the display. The engine had little more power and almost not responded to the accelerator.
FYI I rode at that time 125km / h with the air conditioning at 19.5 degrees and an outside temperature of 23 degrees.
After 10 minutes, 100km / h drove the message was gone again, but the message I got back after 20 minutes. Then the rest of the trip and the trip home did slow down.
Appears after some searching on the Internet, in particular, drivers of Outlander PHEV pulling a trailer have this problem. Monday I called the dealer and went to find out what it could be. Strange because the Internet is widely known and not at the dealership. It became increasingly clear that this was probably going to be an insoluble problem.
The dealer has today called me and indeed there is to do nothing. The problem arises because the gasoline engine power must supply for driving the front wheels, batteries need recharging and AC powered. When the power demand is too much, the engine in a safe mode to recharge the battery at something. Only the battery then back out quickly if you continue on the same footing with driving.
I understand that this can happen when towing a caravan with a large resistance, but with 4 bikes and 1 on the roof honestly do not.
We are about 3 weeks on vacation with the same pack only comes with a ski box. Renault GS had absolutely no problems here and 150km / h in the southern German hills went without problems. I had factored that this would not happen with the Outlander but 130km / h in Germany quite a nice pace to only be able to come so that does not even happen to be rather 110km / h.
I think it's also dangerous because if you want to catch just the safe mode and enter into that can cause dangerous situations.
I decided to swap to ask a colleague car so I'm not encounter these problems. No punishment because he drives a Volvo V70 D5 full options. He agreed, so the problem is solved, but you're going to love your own car on holiday.
What bothers me is that both Mitsubishi and the dealer in any way possible problem have expressed during the decision process. The car is sold as a complete alternative to the middle class and therefore this is not the case.
I have the number of stars for reliability therefore reduced to 3 stars.
Too bad because I am also very happy with the car.
Update (56,000 km)
After my last experience of time for an update for the summer holidays.
The Volvo V70 was a true delight to drive during the holidays and I'll be honest, I again returned to the car with pain in my heart to my colleague. This is a car where you sit behind the wheel it's like there for years have driven.
The Outlander:
The counter is now at 56k, which is slightly less than normal driving after a year. However, because we have not been with the Outlander holiday that saves so fast 4k to kilometers.
What happened in the meantime:
the meantime, replace the seat frame and sat a few months there is no play on, but now it is again as before.
Also, all the rubbers of the front suspension replaced this was considered modification that should have been already implemented in 2014. Both make adjustments again clear to me that the car has long stood at the importer otherwise I do not suffer from can here. The dealer, however, continues to evade the answer to this question.
Also, I had more and more wear leather on the bestuurdersstoel.Dit recognized by Mitsubishi as a warranty claim and was replaced during the 56k turn.
I also noticed that the driver's door at reasonable wind on the highway at the top what does and drafts. There appear to be at the turn 20k as modifiers to have been placed new rubbers, but which therefore do not have the desired effect. This is again so wait and discussed with Mitsubishi. Finally, the interior is very sensitive to scratches and makes sense of quality deteriorating.
I'm still very pleased with how the car drives and space. The high is I think still very nice.
However, all the above points make it clear that the quality of this car does not match the price level of Mitsubishi. The brand presents itself very long vwb price level higher than the average for the market, think of the Galant time. I have a Mazda 6 (2008) and Honda (2007) also both driven from the land of the rising sun, but definitely of a higher quality.
It remains difficult to calculate an average use because I home, office and electrical tank and in addition the fuel. The range of the battery does not exceed a maximum of 35k and it was nice weather. I have the feeling that I can drive over when I loaded home office more refueled km with a fully charged battery. At home I have a 16 amp socket and office too, but it seems like the charging post office just a little fuller tank.
A few colleagues have also written an Outlander (total now 5) of which the new model. Their range is greater when they do not slow down or something.
Finally, I was given a new model Outlander during the turn 56k and the most expensive version. I must say that has become especially the interior is nicer and better. The leather is of better quality, the workmanship of the area around the handbrake and poker is nicer and more logical. The wheel I would want to put that in my car because that is really much better in the hand by the thin leather. A nice gimmick of this version is the heated steering wheel. Well, I think softer suspension, the new model and that is not good for me the handling. What one finds personally from the outside
and I have mixed feelings. The front I think too spacy, but the back is successful.
Incidentally, the seat of the car was too slack.
