I've had this car since April 2010. I do not drive many kilometers with it, but each kilometer driven, it is enjoying. For this I had a Golf III GTI. Slightly reduced bit error, but in the black with neat BBS rims also a nice car. I, of course, driving for a longer or shorter pieces in many more cars.
However, the Alfa is of a different level.
OUTSIDE / INSIDE
What do the Alpha is primarily the outside. The combination of eg the beautiful pearl color, Super 17-inch wheels and leather upholstery (in real darker than on picture) this beautiful car give even just a little extras. Pride possession, if only because of the appearance.
In addition, it is a Distinctive with some options. The aforementioned leather seats, steering wheel control, center armrest and air conditioning with 2-zone give the feeling of luxury. The decor is great.
In the dark makes it off the red lights of buttons and counters. Nicer than the standard green or orange variants on most cars of that time.
DRIVING
Driving is important to me, and this is well known that the strongest point of this car. The very direct steering is great for the city, it is never too annoying on the highway. From far left to right, total just over 2 stuuromwentellingen.

Disadvantage is that the turning radius is slightly larger, what you notice when parking and turning on the road.
The car has plenty of grip, and otherwise engages the traction control on. Fulda tires that I have under it are not great in terms of grip. However, there is a smart edge on the outside, so that the wheels never hit the curb.
The exhaust makes a lovely sound. I do not know if this is standard for the 120 hp version (Veloce version). but window open, and it's pure enjoyment.
Fortunately, he's not so loud that resembles a retrofitted sports exhaust. On the highway the car is therefore sufficiently quiet.
There is also noticeable that the car still has considerable pull in fifth gear, good for overtaking.
The car hardly tilts, is to send "quick" through the direct control, and is comfortable enough on the highway with a good base. Do give the flat tires a little too much information by on highway.
Understeer is only when you really require the maximum from the car. In short turns the traction control enters into force, which is especially seen in the light for you, and barely notice it is.
The engine has at low speeds not much traction in middle and high speed even more. Nice is the sound and the experience in those scenic areas. Also comes with the sports exhaust system (which is quite civilized, not sound so bad)
DETAILS
All in all, a car that you can really enjoy and where you stand with it, thanks to this performance.
Details that make greater enjoyment:
- Protective edge on the tires, which rims are not damaged by the curb
- Sportive exhaust note without a mister cap el cheapo 'to be.
- Red lights counters and buttons.
- For slam and lock the doors go from a 'good sound', gives feeling of quality.
- 8 airbags in a three-door car from 2002 ... (!)
- Leather upholstery is in good condition after 168,000 km!
PROBLEMS:
- Airbag light is on, if remedied, it is again the case.
- Coolant level has dropped considerably. Pressuring did not help, refilled and wait now.
- Creaking box audio system, rear left (no longer a problem once)
MIN:
- Other bands could still improve grip.
- Torque at low rpm
- None 6th gear (only loss at really high speeds)
- Windshield wipers are visible in the rest position, which comes cheaply.
CONCLUSION
Very sporty driving car through control, sound, and eager revving engine. Comfort, thanks to the deluxe version, and enough bekijks by the color and rim combination
alone walking to the car, increases your funlevel, driving and the interior even more.
Big chance that I referred again Alfa buy, but if I just by few, I might prefer a Nissan 350Z ...
Late last year we bought as a second car the Corsa, in addition to the S60 (see review) we then were also planning to swap. But first bought the Corsa.
We were looking for a convenient second car for groceries and especially small rides, five-door, automatic (or semi), like air-conditioning and well-known history. After searching for a few weeks, we have come to this Opel. It's certainly not the most exciting car, too dark ... But it is quite luxurious and has low km state.
Some specifications of this Corsa1.2 easy tronic Elegance include:
- Electric windows
- Electric mirrors
- Air conditioning
- Radio CD player (with a nice sound)
- Airbags for driver and passenger, even curtain airbags ...
- Leather steering wheel with radio controls
- central locking remote
During the test drive was that the chairs are pretty hard but give enough support. The easy tronic is getting used to, does some choppy at times, but if you are just in driving then you learn to deal with it.
We have now almost 10,000 km driven this car in six months time. We had never thought of doing before, I took on 5 to 6 thousand per year. But because of a bad experience with the exchange of our S60 for a V70 whose odometer did not appear to be correct (see my review for more information on our S60), we have the Corsa a time should use as only car. I have the car also well know, a few weeks driving around 500 km a week with the car.
In those weeks I have learned to appreciate the Corsa as a reliable car. Had no problem and always driving. However, very comfortable, is not all. The 1.2's doing fine up to 100 km per hour, in addition he makes a lot of noise. The easy tronic is a container where you can get used to, now I know exactly when I have to give gas or even just need to let go in order to avoid strange shift points. A real kickdown is not there, so if you need to insert on the highway you will get a lot of noise and no speed, which is sometimes even a little sweat ...
But all in all very happy with the car and particularly pleased that we him had done before we got any problems with the S60 traded "new" V70.
Meanwhile, the S60 again been in our possession and exchanged again for a more modern V70 (of which car I will also keep a review).
The Corsa has altogether exemplary conduct in recent months, now he will serve again as a 'second' car will not easily reach more mileage. If there is anything to report I complete this review again. I will also just a few pictures post there.
MOT and small turn (39,000 km)
The Corsa has already been a while in our possession and was recently used mainly for short trips around town. The mileage shoot so not really move forward.
MOT expired and the service light also came on so at a garage in the neighborhood carry a small turn and MOT. Nothing was found, no defect and for about 150 euros we were on our way again. Oil and filters are replaced, replenished fluids and so a new MOT.
The Corsa like more fine, no defects or strange situations. The only annoying thing is that the resevoir for the windshield wiper fluid is so small that you're constantly refilling. But if that's all ...
The scores remain the same. The car is not super comfortable, thanks to the easy tronic and hard chairs. Speed is fine in town, but the highway is the opposite. Costs are simply low and there are no flaws, so that scores the Corsa 'good' (four stars). All in all we are very satisfied.
had Ee overhaul, with hefty price tag; Rmblokken + discs cont., New distribution for multi + belt tensioners, thermostat, valve cover gasket, water pump repaired battery airbag malfunction and some other little things like the lighting and liquids.
All reasonably regular maintenance at this km state, but all at once; it costs quite a bit. Let's just say 'he provisionally can move forward again.
The temeratuur remained on major roads below 90 degrees, around 60-70 grams. After replacing thermostat this is another fine.
I also think that the car quite quickly loses grip with the slick again. Also comes with the B-brand summer tires. But also the brakes go very fast in ABS. Garage loan car (brand new 107 with winter tires) this still did better.
All in all, the conclusion is still valid. But I have the mark 'running' revised downwards with a star.
The drive is still delicious, and the electronics: All buttons etc do just fine, even the steering wheel controls.
There are some things that I for now almost 10 years (!) Old car tricks look. While driving this shoot me in, not now. I will add them later under "details".
