The Hyundai i30 was chosen after a brief search for a somewhat affordable midsize car with a little trunk space. Although our preference was for a Toyota Auris turned it into the new version still well above budget and the older versions within budget had too little trunk space to bring our stroller and some extra bags. At the Hyundai dealer in Dordrecht was the i30 Business Edition. The price was slightly above budget, but given the many extras that we were after a short negotiation can still get a good price at the Business Edition.
The car itself I drive now 3 months and it works very well. Personally, I had to get used to the low seating position, since my previous cars all have been higher, but it is quickly accustomed and I drive a nice and comfortable my commute. Longer trips go well without complaints afterwards. Luxury in the Business Edition is very pleasant and navigation generally works fine. I say this in general as the cards are from 2014 and the new roads around Rotterdam have not yet been processed. Somewhat annoying when you are daily in Rotterdam. Fortunately, I know the way. April / May will (if all goes well) become available an update that will be installed for free. Just hang on.
What I do scary little disappointed'm consumption and the accuracy of the instruments. Consumption will be advertised as 5ltr / 100km, but in practice I now own is an average of 6.6ltr / 100km according to the usage monitor. According to the meter in the car itself, this should be 6.2ltr / 100km. Quite a few exceptions so and this I experience myself as very disturbing. My driving irritation about the high consumption, I would consider myself conservative watwat makes only bigger.
There is a week a short circuit 12v sockets after I had given a phone charger. I will here touch on recording with the dealer and hopefully this it can still fix under warranty.
Last drawback is that the touch screen when the car has been parked overnight in a koou hardly reacts to touch. This, however, occur after the heater has rotated a 5 to 10 minutes and more than a lastigheidje is not.
Overall, no major problems so. All in all it's a great car and I hope that consumption, now it gets warmer, yet some will improve. Had still not regret the purchase and look forward to many more kilometers with the Hyundai i30.
Anyway, to make a long story short, within a week I was the new owner of a 3 month old XC60 T5 Summum with just over 3000 km on the odometer. The trade-in price for my almost two year old V70 was more than attractive (cost per kilometer figure is more than 20 years been my profession) while the price of the XC60 compared to the (Dutch) original price was nothing to sneeze at. Overall, I was happy and the dealers. And so they should, he can and should also be able to earn.
Thanks to the Dutch tax system continues to import from the neighboring countries of interest to the buyer and merchant.
German import, so "fully loaded". (Te) dark side windows, 20-inch aluminum wheels and all security options were checked from the booklet: collision warning, lane departure warning, blis (warning for traffic in blind spots), adaptive cruise control and a start-stop system. Power driver's seat, even a folding luggage rack, we offer delicious folded.
Osmium Grey metallic color, civilized and well. However, there are still some decorations on front and back, but hardly noticed.
Since we were the week after purchase would leave for the winter, the car had to be on winter tires. Here again made an excellent deal: included winter tires on rims with my trade-V70 in exchange for a nearly new set of winter tires on 18-inch rims. Optically be the minimum for an XC60, but on the other hand very useful when there is snow chains must be fitted.
I wrote about my V70 Volvo that was the best I had ever ridden? True, but I have to change now. That position gets the XC60 now mine. Of course, it is less flexible in terms of suspension and the high is you literally back from the road surface. But the overall feeling of comfort is still at a higher level. The chairs have a little more contoured backrests, the electrically adjustable lumbar support are slightly finer than the manual. The high is the overview better, but I knew that the two XC90 I've ever had.
The 2-liter engine is quieter than the 1.6 V70, the power of 245 hp is more than enough. On the autobahn reason my wife and I occasionally unnoticed 170, while we had to slow the fixed plan.
Consumption? During our drive to Austria 1 to 10.4, but with an average speed of 104 km / h on the whole trip. That includes file and drive up into the mountains. Not overly good, but certainly not bad. I was content.
The car's finish is again better than the last. Almost Audi level. Everything fits nicely, seams are equally large and the materials used are fine. Over the years, Volvo has crept ever closer to the premium level. If I Volvos ridden by me in the last 20 years Compare, this true kind.
From V40, via V70, XC90, C70, XC90 then again, again V70 and XC60 now I have the quality of plastics, leather and finishing only see increase. And I'm not talking about the quality of the Seat Alhambra, Chrysler Voyager and Renault Espace we have had in the driveway. In terms of Volvo I let the '66er Amazon 123 GT but also out of consideration, although that was the Volvo with the real old-fashioned, reliable Volvo feel.
The navigation is a revelation. I was the ease of operation is further enhanced by the last V70 been pleasantly surprised at the progress in the XC60. Equivalent for me of the MMI system in the A3 cabrio my wife. The thumb wheel on the steering wheel lets you easily control all functions, and the voice system is enjoyable and easier than the V70. Only the Audi yet how high you are and that's pretty funny when you drive into the mountains. Only minus for the Volvo navigation.
Fun is also the digital dashboard. 3 Choices in design and color. I chose the sport mode, which lets you instantly have the large digital speedometer in front of you. Small detail, but in my eyes big improvement is that all the buttons now have a white light, instead of the old green. Interior therefore looks evenings firmer.
Satisfied? Sure, although I realize that I have more experience about a year and then can make a gefundeerder judgment. But for now are all the lights are green.
With our current fleet (you) we have for all rides something suitable in the home: the XC60 for long trips, winter holidays and removals of children studying. The A3 convertible for sunny days (from 12 degrees open driving delicious) and summer vacations. And the '69er T 911 for rallies and simply just once pure, old-fashioned car feel.
The last I will also sometimes write a review but then goes certainly less on reason and more about emotion.
We are certainly privileged and we realize too. As a (temporary) conclusion I find the XC60 T5 delicious, not gaudy car that definitely stands his ground in the middle SUV.
