After searching for a while came the V70 in our path, it is a V70 2.4d Momentum Geartronic automatic transmission

What a nice car! That is basically the core of my experience so far. Okay, we have the car only encounter a few weeks in possession, but in a short time you can get much misery. Let me start at the beginning. We drove a S60 D5 machine from 2002 (see review) satisfactorily, but due to family expansion was time for a larger car, prefer a V70. We first exchanged the S60 for an older V70 (2007) but that was not a success ... see my review of the S60.

After this setback, we have (after some legal trouble) our S60 again recovered and we started looking again, this time with official Volvo dealer (or at any rate BOVAG garages). The requirements:

- beautiful V70 (dear black, gray or deep blue), diesel, automatic, leather and heated seats, Bluetooth, good radio, nice wheels (original no aftermarket junk).

After searching for a while came the V70 in our path, it is a V70 2.4d Momentum Geartronic automatic transmission from 2009 completed 250,000 km on the clock. The first owner who has bought a new car and has always maintained Volvo Verkerk Utrecht. Despite the high km stand I dared because maintenance is simply and neatly executed throughout history is clear.

The big Swede has, amongst others:
- Leather
- Navigation (up to date)
- 18-inch wheels with summer tires Volvo
- Volvo 16-inch wheels with winter tires
- Heated seats
- Blue Tooth on the phone
- parking sensors and rain sensor.

The test drive was a real revelation, which denies that say nice! The S60 was already comfortable, but this is a higher level again. I was always raved about the seats of my S60, V70 but has more comfortable seats. While also driving the V70 is how feels solid car, no rattle or noise.

Neat trade price and got a discount. Delivery included: new MOT, 6 months BOVAG warranty, one year Volvo Europa service, extensive delivery including turn navi update. The bagagerol was damaged which was to be replaced. In turn, the delivery of tires (18 inches) replace the brake discs and pads and run around replacing the standard operations (filters, etc.).

We now have the first long journeys (+200 km) behind the back and my conclusion so far is that it is a very nice trip car primarily on the highway feels in his element. I am excited to go here in the coming years, thousands of kilometers away and will keep this review. I'm especially curious about how much maintenance will be compared with the S60. The scores of the car put into provisional good, excellent I really can only give up after a few thousand kilometers. I will also put a photo. In short, to be continued!
The first few thousand km's experience (260.000 km)

The V70 is a small three months in our possession and we have been about 7500 km road. Especially residential work traffic, lots of highway mileage. It's on the highway where this car really comes into its own. Wonderfully quiet and eat comfortably kilometers, there's the talent of the V70. In the city it is still mostly a big car with a huge turning circle (though it was from the old S60 I feel even bigger) and it is also noticeable that there is a big five-cylinder under the hood.

As mentioned the mileage fly comfortably under the Swede by and every day I step with a smile in the car, even if I have to leave at 6:30 pm ....
That smile was just gone when the heated seats and rain sensor called it quits. This is fortunate neatly under warranty solved by Verkerk. Even two days to borrow given a nice V60 D4, what a pleasure to drive! D4 which is a very quiet and fast engine, already miss the five-cylinder after a while a bit. The space aboard a V60 also disappointing compared to the V70, including the chairs of the more sporty side which is not directly beneficial to the comfort. Anyway, this is not a review of a V60 car loan, but my V70. After repairs everything worked nicely again, so now it gets colder (though it does not appear there on 17 degrees on October 31), I again have a warm seat, top!

All in all, the V70 suits so fine, super comfortable, fast and powerful enough, high sense of security, lots of space and delicious (again heated) seats!

The coming weeks will go there be more driven, if there is anything to report, I will update this review again.
Initial service (276 423 km)

The first 25,000 km are there and that meant immediately the first regular service work. I carry your Volvo dealer in my area (Bluekens) because the guarantee now yet expired had little sense to drive all the way to Utrecht. In addition I had with my previous car good experience in this business, so keep customers there.

The V70 has been a morning at the park and then came the redeeming phone call, nothing special going on only to replace the brake and wiper blades. The latter I had noticed while driving in the rain, but I forgot to report the issue of the car. In short, neatly done again. There are of course other work performed associated with regular maintenance, filters, oil, updates and replaced an APU plus belt tensioner et cetera. I do not know exactly what that last that question sometimes after. The cost is yet again a sloppy 900. But yes, the S60 costs were often above the thousand euros and we are already more than 25,000 km.

V70 incidentally pleases all, the car runs great, seats are very nice and there is lots of space on board. Now we have a little one is especially the latter a true delight. It's amazing how much stuff you drags for such a little person. It fits easily in the trunk of the V70, you throw it almost literally, and the protective screen just goes close. You see around you many people tinker with loading and stacking of stuff, because we do not suffer from.

The only downside of the V70 is that the costs are on the high side. It is simply a large, heavy diesel and we value thorough maintenance because we use a lot of the car. It's not a cheap hobby is to drive I already knew, so it is no reason for me to give a low rating for the car a big Volvo diesel. My experience so far, in more than 25,000 km that I made with the V70 are especially positive. I will therefore assess comfort and reliability upward adjustment to 5-star. Performance and costs are both set to four stars. I choose this because it really gives comfort to the value of this car and because during the service nothing was found confidence I give the highest score. Performance is good, which therefore remains at 4 stars. I miss no power, including between sprints are handled well, thanks to the enormous torque of the car. But our old S60 was still faster and that real fast that I miss sometimes. Costs are simply quite high, I know and everyone knows who buys a large diesel because there are no unforeseen costs continues to stand at 4 stars. Overall this is a very happy Volvo driver, if it continues, is it really another Volvo for life.
