Laos may not be the first destination that comes to mind in Southeast Asia

Laos may not be the first destination that comes to mind in Southeast Asia. Countries like Thailand, India and Malaysia, for that matter more popular. Yet Laos is one of my favorite countries in Asia! It is less touristy than other parts, beautifully green and the people are super nice. One of the most unique travel experiences I ever done in Laos: sleeping in a treehouse :-). How cool is that ?!

Treehouse Laos

Feeling like a monkey.

In the north of Laos You can find this awesome tree houses. You sleep on as much as 30 meters high and sways from one to the other treehouse via a zipline! The project where these tree houses part of it make, called the Gibbon Experience. Not for nothing, because with a little luck you can see Gibbons from the tree where you stay. This is a species of monkey which has since been threatened, because the locals hunt these beautiful creatures. By leaving locals benefit from tourism revenue through the tree, they realize that a live gibbon is worth more than a dead one.

Zipline.

The trip takes a minimum of three days, two nights. You have to be reasonably fit to get into the area where the ziplines walk and stand the tree. But when you get there, you have some. The middle of the jungle is a whole network of landscaped ziplines. One even higher, longer or faster than the other. Nowadays there are a lot of ziplines, especially in Central America, but this is surely the best gift! Hurtles sometimes more than a hundred meters above the canopy just missed treetops. So beautiful! In the evening when it gets dark, you notice that the jungle also comes to rest. Sounds fade and give way to other sounds. In the morning you wake up with a cool breeze blowing through your hair and the sound of the many birds, frogs and cicadas. While there is still floating over the treetops patches of fog, breakfast is below hung a basket. This can then hoist yourself up :-). When you're finished, there and another day on the program where you have the whole day to explore the ziplijnen. How many lines you've had, it's still fun to do! It's not cheap, but well worth it. And moreover you support a good cause, namely, the support of local people and some wildlife projects.

Jaaaa today balloons and cake for me for my birthday :-). 31 years young. Or well, as some people think otherwise, but I make it all not matter. Every year there is to be celebrated anyway? If I'm birthday, I always tend to look back a little in the last year and actually it's been a very nice year! A year in which I travel Girl then-nal-law began :-D, several trips were on the schedule and I ran the marathon in Rotterdam. Here are some of my best moments of last year when I was 30! Travel Girl. Well. That's really the first person I have named. The idea of a blog was like so long in my mind, that finally once again had to come. After much thinking about the name of my blog, I still came every time at Travel Girl Out.

It says exactly what I am, bullied tasty and you know what the subject of my blog ;-). So I bought the domain name, took a Wordpress account, chose a design and blogging it! In one year, a lot has changed and I learned a lot. It's super fun to get all the nice comments on something I do with so much passion. So I keep it nice go through. Travel through Kashmir and Ladakh. Last September there was a wonderful trip on the schedule through Kashmir and Ladakh in northern India. And it lived up to all my expectations! It's a very different part than the usual crowded, chaotic and dirty India that you might know. In the North you will find space, fresh air, mountains and a vast Muslim and Buddhist culture. I thought it was a wonderfull trip! NYE in Israel. To close out the year, we decided to go to Israel 10 days at the last minute 8-). Although it me beforehand really appealed, I did not expect that I would find such a cool trip. Those 10 days were even too short! Jerusalem I found really more than great; all the history and culture in one city, fantastic! But the Palestinian territories and the glimpse you get to see the conflict I found very impressive. I will definitely come back. Cosiness in Lermoos.

In March, it was then time for a nice long weekend winter sports with friends. Cosy! We went to Lermoos in Austria. Near and yet the real Austrian skiing sensation. Marathon time! I wanted it for some time, but it still was not. And now it was finally so far: I started training for a real marathon. 42.2 kilometers. Ai. Yet anything other than the 15-18 kilometer that I simply enjoy walking. The road to the marathon far was sometimes tough, but I noticed ultimately bad. It takes time, but I knew that beforehand. April 13 was the big day: I was at the start of the Rotterdam Marathon, along with a friend. And I made it without walking! Secretly even tastes a little more ;-). Weekend Poland. Well, and a week later we decided we also went to visit relatives in Poland. During Easter. About 80 kilometers across the border with Germany, so that's something to do once. Something different! And now I start my 31th year of life :-)! On to many more beautiful moments, fun and above all ability to travel and short trips. And now: cake !!
